On Friday (July 28), Zachery Ty Bryan was allegedly involved in a physical dispute with a woman – who has yet to be identified – at a residence in Eugene, Oregon. The police were called and, while he wasn’t at the residence when they got there, they later tracked him down, arrested him, and booked him into jail.

The 41-year-old was charged with ‘felony assault in violation of the Abuse Prevention Act,’ which usually means the victim was assaulted by someone they had a restraining order against. TMZ was the first to report the incident and was still gathering information as of July 30 – the situation is a bit hazy right now.

TMZ has reason to believe that the woman is Bryan’s fiance, Johnnie Faye – who he proposed to, in November 2021. They already share a daughter together and have twins on the way – which they announced in November 2022. The couple is allegedly still together, but they have a rocky past.

Zachery Ty Bryan was involved in a string of arrests in 2020 – starting with his DUI arrest in May 2020, to which he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years of probation. He was also ordered to spend 18 months in a multiple-offender alcohol program, considering it was his fourth DUI arrest since 2004.

In September 2020, Bryan and his then-wife, Carly Matros, announced their divorce – which he credited to his party lifestyle and infidelity. One month later, he was arrested again – this time for a series of charges related to a domestic abuse incident that happened with his then-girlfriend, Johnnie Faye.

They were allegedly arguing over Bryan’s double-life and the fact that he was married while they were romantically involved with one another. He was initially charged with felony strangulation, fourth-degree assault, coercion, menacing, harassment, and interference, but four of those charges were dropped.

In the end, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor menacing and a misdemeanor assault. As for his relationship with Johnnie Faye, he ended up proposing to her a year later and she said yes. In addition to their one (soon-to-be-three) children, Bryan shares four children from his previous marriage to Matros.

Zachery Ty Bryan Opened Up About the Incident in June

On June 22 – just one month before his second arrest for domestic violence – Zachery Ty Bryan opened up about his first arrest in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. He claimed the situation was ‘blown out of proportion’ and that the couple didn’t even get that physical – though he admitted to it being loud.

“We didn’t even really get that physical. We got really loud. We were screaming and because we were in a townhome that had [thin walls], everybody could hear,” Bryan said of the 2020 incident – though his girlfriend recounted a different story. “Johnnie was, at the time, just really upset about my situation.”

In her own recollection of the event, Johnnie accused Zachery of pulling her hair, punching her in the face, and choking her for about 45 seconds – adding that he had been abusive for a month leading up to the incident. Nonetheless, he was charged with two misdemeanors and they went on to get engaged.

“At the end of the day, [the police] throw a bunch of counts at you because they ultimately want you to plead to something. I could’ve fought it…but that’s more stress and drama. I got two misdemeanors and called it a day,” Zachery Ty Bryan further explained in defense of himself – implying he did nothing wrong.
