“Someone find whether this is a world record.” Seriously, a woman, who is 9 months weeks pregnant, running a sub-six-minute mile, has to be a world record, right?
To give it some context, the average time for a woman between the ages of 25 to 29 to run a mile is 11 minutes. Mike Myler’s wife, Makenna, on the other hand, is an absolute beast.

Woman Goes Viral for Running a Sub-Six-Minute Mile While 9 Months Pregnant
So how did Makenna figure out she could run a mile in 5 minutes and 25 seconds? Well, Mike made a bet with her of course. As he revealed in their TikTok video, Mike bet Makenna that if she could run faster than an 8-minute mile while 9 months pregnant he would give her $100.

Well, she completely blew that bet out of the water. In fact, we think Mike should give Mackenna $200 considering she nearly beat the time limit by half!

While talking with BuzzFeed, Makenna revealed she’s always been an avid runner. And throughout her entire pregnancy, she has run at least five or six times a week.
“I cut back my mileage a lot and have been a lot slower, but I have been very particular with my strength training to make sure my pelvic shift and added weight didn’t/doesn’t cause any injury,” she told BuzzFeed. Makenna said the bet stemmed from her being nervous about running while pregnant.
“To keep me motivated, he said he would give me $100 if I could break 8 minutes doing the mile at 9 months pregnant.” And of course this was something the 28-year-old mom-to-be got approved by her doctor before doing, she told BuzzFeed.
“My first doctor was all about it because he had dealt with elite athletes before. My second doctor asked me to be a bit more cautious because he didn’t understand my background — and that was before any ultrasound. After ultrasounds showed a perfectly healthy baby, he’s been more supportive, but emphasizes the importance of getting enough calories (which, if he knew me better, he would know that’s not a problem).”
However, running during her pregnancy wasn’t just about winning a bet, Makenna admitted. It’s about feeling like she’s still able to be herself. “Feeling capable is everything to me. Running has been a big outlet for me in that way.”
You go, Makenna. Keep impressing the world and showing pregnant women they are still capable!
