With Prince Andrew’s integrity tarnished after he was sued by Virginia Robert Giuffre for infliction of emotional distress and battery, Prince William is ready to take a step forward without Prince Andrew.

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, in the suit, Giuffre claimed that when she was 17 years old Jeffrey Epstein forced her to have sex with Prince Andrew multiple times between 2000 to 2002.

Prince Andrew and his legal team attempted to get the civil suit dismissed by using the 2009 settlement between Giuffre and Epstein. Andrew’s lawyer argued that some of the language used in the settlement also protects the prince.

However, New York Federal Judge Lewis Kaplan decided that was not the case. In fact, Judge Kaplan argued that the language in the 2009 settlement is so vague that it really carries no meaning at all.

Nonetheless, while Andrew’s reasons why the lawsuit should be dismissed were ignored by the judge, it was formally dismissed weeks later after both parties came to an agreement. As part of the settlement, Prince Andrew was asked to make a substantial donation to his accuser’s charity and declare he never meant to malign her character, to which he agreed.

However, now that those legal issues have come to an end, Prince William reportedly wants to make sure Prince Andrew is permanently banned from life as a member of the royal family. According to a source, Prince William allegedly has “strong views on the Duke of York and believes his insistence in trying to cling on to a public role is highly dangerous for the institution.”

“He would have cut him loose a long time ago if it had been up to him,” the source continued. “He understands that when it comes to mother and son the situation is complicated, but honestly I think he just wishes he would vanish from public view.”

In fact, as The Independent reported, William is so insistent on Prince Andrew stepping away, that he made an ultimatum before Order of the Garter ceremony. William reportedly said he would “withdraw” from the ceremony if Andrew appeared publicly alongside other senior members of the royal family. William allegedly got his way as Andrew was not seen at the ceremony.

This is something William feels strongly about, the source claimed, adding, “If it had been up to him he would have pushed for things to have happened a lot faster than they did.” The prince reportedly knows that “people are simply not going to be happy with silence anymore.”

The Daily Mail alleges that when it comes to the members of the royal family who are often seen in the public, Prince William’s goal is to limit that number. However, that has not yet been confirmed.

A source says that while Prince William is close to his cousins, Beatrice and Eugenie, he reportedly believes it’s a “very good thing that they have their own families and careers.” The source also claims that William admires Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips for the same thing.

“He is even closer to Zara (Tindall) and Peter (Phillips) and admires the lives they have built outside of the family. They will always all be included in family moments, but that’s very different from having royal roles.”

The Daily Mail reports that his alleged decision to “slim down” the Firm is so that the monarch will survive the future. “He believes the monarchy needs to better explain its own thinking, particularly in terms of its place in the world,” the source said of William.

Prince William turned 40 on June 21.
