Whoopi Goldberg is sharing her thoughts on Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s relationship.
Despite filing for divorce on Aug. 20, Lopez and Affleck were seen together enjoying some time together with their kids on Sept. 14.
Photos during their family outing showed the estranged husband and wife looking close and friendly, sparking talk about the potential of them calling off their divorce.
While the divorce is ongoing, Goldberg shared her thoughts on the idea of Lopez and Affleck getting back to gather when co-hosting The View.
Goldberg admitted that it could be “very hard” for Lopez and Affleck to rekindle their marriage, given how famous they are, admitting the public will “sit around and judge it.”
Goldberg said it was likely the only reason the estranged couple was together was “because their kids wanted to” spend time together.
After rumors began to spread regarding Affleck moving on from his marriage with Robert J. Kennedy’s daughter, Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy, his rep “there is no truth to any of it,” she said of the dating rumors, according to USA Today.
“I don’t know if they even know each other,” the rep continued.
Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck after two years of marriage without using a lawyer, People reported. An unusual move by someone seeking to legally end a marriage.
Neither Lopez nor Affleck have explicitly addressed their divorce publicly.
On Sept. 1, Lopez took to Instagram to share a series of photos she took over the summer, captioning the images, “Oh, it was a summer.”
She also shared a message within the carousel, writing, “Everything is unfolding in divine order.” Lopez followed that message up with another that read, “she’s in bloom and unbothered out of reach and at peace.”
