Wendy Williams has checked into a wellness facility to focus on her health.
Her publicist Shawn Zanotti revealed in a statement to ABC News how the talk show host has entered a wellness facility “to manage her overall health issues.”

“She is taking some time to focus on her health and wellness as she prepares for a major comeback for the next level in her career with ‘The Wendy Experience Podcast,'” Zanotti said.
“Ms. Williams is being treated by a team of some of the best doctors in the world. We ask for your prayers and well wishes during this time.”
Now, Wendy’s publicist is speaking out after her stint in the wellness facility. In the new statement released by Zanotti, he revealed Williams is now home. “Wendy is excited about the road ahead and looking forward to releasing her many projects,” he told Entertainment Tonight.
He then shared a message straight from Wendy herself, “Thank you to my fans for your love, support, and many prayers, I am back and better than ever.”
The news comes amid Williams’ longstanding health issues, which include Graves’ disease — an “autoimmune disease that leads to a generalized overactivity of the entire thyroid gland,” according to the American Thyroid Association — and lymphedema, the build-up of fluid when the lymph system is damaged or blocked, which can cause swelling in the legs and arms, according to the National Cancer Institute.
Consequently, the talk show host decided to step away from “The Wendy Williams Show,” in September 2021, just ahead of its 13th season.
The show’s final season was hosted by various personalities, and the final episode aired on June 17.
Multiple sources exclusively informed Page Six how the host was “at death’s door” and ultimately hospitalized for two blood transfusions two years ago due to her worsening alcohol addiction.
In May of 2020, her friend, DJ Boof, discovered Williams “catatonic” at her New York City apartment, where her former manager Bernie Young allegedly refused to call 911 out of fear it would become public knowledge.

“I don’t think he understood the extent of what was going on, and I don’t think he wanted it to get out that she was not well, and he definitely didn’t want a 911 call like [what] happened a year later,” Williams’ longtime friend and eyewitness to the incident told Page Six.
Williams’ New York City apartment was allegedly in disarray as a result of her addiction and her poor health.
“It was pretty much a mess. It was a mess,” the source says. “She was in her robe, it was soiled, she was catatonic, she was in a very, very bad state. She was looking at the ceiling. She was just not responsive, but her eyes were open, but she was definitely in a catatonic state.”
The eyewitness reveals that they discovered “a case of alcohol, open wine bottles, and Ketel One.”
“We started clearing out a lot of liquor,” the eyewitness shares.
The eyewitness, along with Boof, insisted that Young call paramedics or Williams’ former sober team, which was led by Ron Clinton, to get help. In the meantime, they and Boof fed the shock jock ice chips to keep her hydrated.
“She’s going to die. She literally couldn’t stand up,” our source recalls. “She was just lying on top of the covers, and she needed 911 help, and [Young’s] like, ‘We’re not getting 911.’”
Eventually, Williams’ ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, and their son, Kevin Hunter Jr., got on the phone and begged her to get help.
“Kevin and Kevin Jr. were both saying, ‘Please, come on, Mom. Let [Ron and his team] come up,’” our source recalls. “‘Get some help.’”
Kevin Sr. later confirmed to us the aforementioned events involving him and his son.

Boof allegedly then drove Williams in his car to the hospital, where she received two blood transfusions because she was “so low on iron,” multiple sources confirm. She remained under medical observation for about four or five days and had “no recollection” of the events that had transpired.
“She was really, in my opinion, at death’s door,” our initial eyewitness says. “If we were not there that day, she would not be here. She would not have made it. If it weren’t for Kevin and Ron Clinton and his team, she wouldn’t have made it.”
“The focus is not on anything from her past. The only focus we have at this time is for Wendy to continue to strive at getting better and moving forward,” Zanotti, tells Page Six. “Right now she is healing and working on the second part of her documentary and her podcast, she has several things that are demanding her attention right now and past gossip is not one of them.”
It’s unclear what is next for Wendy Williams or if she will return to her talk show hosting chair any time soon. She did recently announce a new podcast she will be hosting with a video that has fans concerned.
“Stop exploiting this lady! Praying for you Wendy,” one commenter wrote. “What does follow the follow mean? Why not just show a video of her talking clearly without all the distractions. I love Wendy and want her back but only when she’s fully ready,” another added.
