On June 10, Vanessa Bryant revealed the two tattoos she got in honor of her late husband and daughter. Vanessa was married to NBA legend Kobe Bryant for 19 years.
On Instagram, Vanessa shared two videos; one was of the tattoo she got on her wrist in honor of her 13-year-old daughter Gianna ‘Gigi’ and the other was of the tattoo she got on her trapezius in honor of Kobe. As Mamas Uncut has previously reported, Kobe and Gigi passed away on January 26 in a devastating helicopter crash that killed seven other people as well.

The crash took place in Calabasas, California. Kobe, Gigi, and the other passengers aboard the helicopter were on their way to a youth basketball game in which Kobe was to coach, and Gigi—as well as two other girls on the helicopter—were scheduled to compete it.
It’s unclear exactly what the tattoos say, but she did reveal that both of the messages are written in Kobe’s and Gigi’s handwriting. “Shoutout to Nikko Hurtado for coming over and helping me get my Gigi’s sweet message transferred on me.”

The tattoos were done in February, the mom of four revealed. “So happy I can see my Gigi’s handwriting every day,” Vanessa continued. “I wanted my boo boo’s, @kobebryant, sweet message transferred on me.”
Recently, Vanessa celebrated Gigi’s eighth-grade graduation. Along with a photo of Gigi’s full name written out and surrounded by white flowers, the mom wrote on Instagram, “Congratulations on your 8th-grade graduation Gigi. I love you forever and always. I’m so proud of you. [Love], Mommy.”
The videos come after it was reported that Vanessa has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the helicopter company. It was also reported by Entertainment Tonight that she is requesting “substantial compensation” for their roll in Kobe and Gigi’s death.
“As a result of Kobe Bryant’s and GB’s deaths, Vanessa Bryant seeks economic damages, non-economic damages, prejudgment interest, punitive damages, and other relief as the Court deems just and proper. The documents state that “although the total specific amount of personal injury damages the plaintiff seeks is TBD, Kobe Bryant’s future lost earnings equal hundreds of millions of dollars.”
The Island Express Helicopters, which owned and operated the helicopter involved in the crash, declined to comment on the latest filings.
