Vanessa Bryant is doing an incredible job at putting on a brave face for the world and for her girls.
After the tragic loss of her husband, NBA legend Kobe Bryant, and their 13-year-old daughter Gianna, the courageous mama is smiling through the pain. Recently, Vanessa shared a beautiful photo of her and her three girls Capri, Bianka, and Natalia in front of a mural of Kobe and Gianna.
The father and daughter lost their lives, along with seven others, in a helicopter crash in the hills of Calabasas on January 26. Along with the photo, the mama shared the lyrics of Nat King Cole’s song “Smile.”

“Smile though your heart is aching / Smile even though it’s breaking,” she wrote to fans. “When there are clouds in the sky, you’ll get by / If you smile through your fear and sorrow.”
“Smile and maybe tomorrow / You’ll see the sun come shining through for you / Light up your face with gladness / Hide every trace of sadness,” the lyrics continue. “Although a tear may be ever so near / That’s the time you must keep on trying / Smile, what’s the use of crying? / You’ll find that life is still worthwhile if you just smile.”
The photos were taken before Natalia went to a winter formal in a beautiful smile and a blue and white dress. They were posted after Vanessa and her three girls honored Kobe and Gianna at their public memorial on February 24, saying “I miss you, all of you, every day.”
We’re holding the brave mama and her girls in our thoughts as they continue to heal during this difficult time.
