While Brian Laundrie’s cause of death has been labeled as “inconclusive,” the Laundrie’s attorney Steven Bertolino has told People that he has been informed by the FBI that they have “everything they need” as the investigation into Gabby Petito’s homicide continues. Currently, Brian Laundrie, although now also deceased, remains the only person of interest in Petito’s murder.
North Port Police Gives Update on Brian Laundrie’s Recovered Notebook
However, police could still get the information they are looking for regarding Brian’s last moments alive. According to Fox News, police say the notebook found near Brian Laundrie’s skeletal remains “may be salvageable.”
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, on October 20, Brian’s dry bag and notebook were recovered at the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park. Several moments later, portions of his skeleton were also discovered by law enforcement.
This Florida Park is where Brian Laundrie’s parents, Christopher and Roberta, told police they believed he disappeared when he left home for the last time on September 13. The area where his personal items and remains were found had previously been underwater during the initial search for the wanted fugitive.
It was only when the water receded and the park reopened to the public that Christopher and Roberta asked police to search the area once more. And after it was made public knowledge that Brian’s notebook was discovered, the world has been holding its collective breath to know if it’s still legible or not.
Now, North Port Police Department Public Information Officer Josh Taylor is telling Fox News Digital that the notebook “appears it may be salvageable. That really is a question for FBI though.”
Taylor did not go into details regarding what was seen in the notebook once it was obtained by authorities. It’s also important to note that based on his Instagram page, Brian Laundrie was an avid drawer.
Since the discovery of Brian Laundrie’s remains, his parents have revealed that they will cremate their son. They have also decided to not have a memorial service for him.
At the time of his death, Brian was wanted for unauthorized purchases made on Gabby Petito’s credit card. The couple had been engaged during their cross-country trip which began in July.
Sadly, following a run-in with police due to a reported domestic dispute between them, when Brian returned back to Florida in the white Ford van they remodeled together, Gabby was nowhere to be found. Eighteen days later, on September 19, Petito’s body was discovered in Bridger-Teton National Forest which is located in Wyoming.
Petito’s death has been ruled a homicide by manual strangulation. The investigation into her murder is still ongoing.
