Two-Year-Old With 146 IQ Is Now The Youngest Member Of Mensa

A 2-year-old is now the youngest member of Mensa with an impressive IQ of 146. Sukhjit Athwal, Kashe’s mother, was the first to notice her daughter’s gifts.

“We started to notice her memory was really great,” the mom told shared. “She just picked up things really fast and she was really interested in learning.”

And by just 17 or 18 months, Kashe could recognize “the alphabet, numbers, colors, and shapes,” her mother added.

In addition, the 2-year-old is also learning Spanish, can do 50 signs in sign language, can count to 100, can identify elements on the periodic table by their symbols, and is learning to read.

“At the end of the day, she’s in that toddler stage,” her mom shared.

“So she very much is still a normal 2-year-old where we have negotiations, we have tantrums, we have everything and it’s different because the way we communicate with her, it has to be different because she’s able to understand just a little bit more.”

Kashe is the youngest member of American Mensa.

The organization “provides its members with diverse and exciting opportunities for social, cultural, and intellectual interaction,” according to the Mensa website.

To be accepted into the organization, one must take an intelligence test and applicants who have “achieved a score at or above the 98th percentile on a standard test of intelligence will qualify for Mensa.”

And while Kashe is not like other 2-year-olds, her mom wants to give her a normal childhood.

“I think one of the biggest things with me and her daughter and making sure she has a childhood and we don’t force anything on her too,” she said. “We’re kind of going at her pace and we want to just make sure that she is youthful for as long as she can be.”
