Renèe Doby-Becht‘s daughter, Ariah, is obsessed with Starbucks and Target. Sure she may only be three years old, but let’s be honest, who isn’t obsessed with Target and Starbucks?
And so when creating Ariah’s playroom, Doby-Becht was inspired by her daughter’s obsessions. The mom first posted images of her the playroom in a closed group on social media and because of the response she received from the members of that group, she decided to share them publicly with the rest of the Facebook community.
Target and Starbucks-Themed Playroom Mom Designs for Daughter Goes Viral
The images of Ariah’s incredible oasis quickly went viral. So far, they have garnered over 9,900 shares and thousands of comments and likes. The mom wrote on Facebook:
“Ariah’s favorite store is Target and of course Starbucks are in most Target stores. Although this gift was really late, I wanted to do something different for Christmas this year. I asked my Sissy and Robby for some help with this crazy idea I had. We created Target using the Melissa and Doug shopping center and Starbucks using Ariah’s cube storage unit in her playroom. Robby added wood and cheap flooring to the storage unit and I painted the rest. I will say it is very nice to have a graphic designer as a sister because Brigette really helped a lot with this project. She designed the Starbucks menus, made all the logos, price tags and sale signs and even taught me how to use the Cricut machine!”

She continued, “Mrs. C also made her Starbucks apron which I wasn’t expecting at all but I’m totally in love with! I’m happy with how it turned out and even happier that Ariah loves it (even though I’m probably more excited about it than her).”
The playsets are equipped with everything you could possibly need to run a successful Target and Starbucks. From a cash register…
And cake pops…
To lattes and frappuccinos…
From merchandise…
And price tags…
To money…
And reusable shopping bags along with a shopping cart…
What more could you ask for? In an interview with Good Morning America, Doby-Becht admitted that she was blown away by the response their creation received.
“There were so many comments and likes and all these positive comments. It was mainly moms that were commenting…they were just blown away.” She explained that her sister is a graphic designer, which is why she asked for her help when creating the ultimate playroom.
Doby-Becht also admitted that the project was therapeutic for her as she is currently going through a divorce.
