In just six weeks, Todd Chrisley and his wife, Julie Chrisley, will begin serving their 12- and 7-year prison sentences, respectively. The couple was found guilty of financial fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy to defraud the US. They were sentenced on November 21st and are to report on January 15, 2023.
On Wednesday, the couple made their first podcast appearance since the sentencing after debuting an episode of Chrisley Confessions called ‘Unconditional Love, Children of God and Gratitude.’ While they didn’t directly discuss the prison sentence, they did talk about their continued faith in the Lord above.
In the podcast, Julie Chrisley talks about the sea of worries and anxieties that overcome her when thinking about the future. She does her best to not live in the “what-ifs” of the world, but rather in the “what you know,” adding that her prayer partners are teaching her to live “above her circumstances.”
Despite describing herself as a ‘live in the trenches kind of girl,” Julie Chrisley is learning that her circumstances aren’t forever and that they’ll eventually change when the time is right. She believes people are “going to be given the strength you need to get through it” and is standing by that notion.
As for how the couple is taking things, they’re deciding to live in the moment and are treating each day ‘as if it were going to be our last.’ Her husband added that ‘Yesterday doesn’t matter. Today is what we have. Tomorrow belongs to God because we’re not promised tomorrow,” echoing his wife’s sentiment.
Todd and Julie Chrisley also took questions from fans during the podcast. After one fan called in to wish the couple well, they responded by showing their appreciation to all the people who have reached out to them and prayed for them. Julie also talked about acting as a role model for her children moving forward.
“If I handle it right, they’re watching. If I screw it up, they’re watching. And so for me as a parent, I want to try to make sure that I do it right more than I do it wrong because I know they’re watching, and I know it will prepare them for difficulties, unfortunately, that they will have later in life,” she said on the podcast.
Todd and Julie Chrisley Receive Support From Children
While Todd Chrisley prepares for a 12-year sentence and Julie Chrisley prepares for a 7-year sentence, their children are preparing for life without parents. It’s something the Chrisley family isn’t used to, considering their parents have always been by their side, no matter what. Now, things are changing.
“The best way I can describe it is grieving the loss of parents who are still alive, which is a really weird thought process and feeling,” said Savannah Chrisley. With her parents going to prison, Savannah is gaining custody of her younger brother, Grayson (16 years old), and niece, Chloe (10 years old).
Chase Chrisley recently broke his silence since his parents’ sentencing. While he didn’t directly name the trial, he told a story “about going out of your way to do something for someone you love because, at any moment, they could unexpectedly be taken from you.” He proposed to his girlfriend in October.

Todd and Julie Chrisley share three children together – Savannah, Grayson, and Chase. Todd also has two children from a previous marriage – a 31-year-old son named Kyle (Chloe’s father) and a 33-year-old daughter named Lindsie. The Chrisleys begin their sentence in mid-January.
