A 28-year-old social media influencer and TikToker was found dead, and his boyfriend was arrested.
According to WKRC, Rory Teasley rose to social media prominence on TikTok and got more than 200,000 followers. Teasley was best known for creating his own comedy sketches and dance routines.
TikToker Reportedly Murdered By Boyfriend During Argument Over Video Game
Teasley was dating his boyfriend for 10 years. However, tragedy struck after a fight broke out between the couple, reportedly over a video game, WKRC reports.
Police reveal that Teasley’s boyfriend, identified as Docquen Jovo Watkins, strangled him to death while they were playing a video game known as “Overwatch. The tragedy reportedly occurred on January 6.
Watkins, 31, has since been charged with second-degree murder. Teasley was found unresponsive on the couch.
In a statement, Sheriff Michael Bouchard said, “We see far too often across the country these days when people resort to violence over trivial and insignificant disagreements. There is never a reason where violence is acceptable over a disagreement. Those that do so will be held accountable.”
Teasley’s TikTok followers have used the comments section to offer their condolences and speak on their grief.
“My first time seeing one of your videos and the comments broke my heart. RIP,” one commenter wrote. “RIP!! My heart broke when I read the story,” another person added.
