A mother recently posted to TikTok a finance hack for her 7-year-old daughter and many are split if the hack is a good idea or just plain selfish.
Mom a.k.a. user feliciaraefarley revealed how her daughter gets paid to do chores but at the end of the week, is charged a dollar for “bills.”
“Every week my daughter has a list of chores,” she said in the video from February 6. “If those chores were completed daily she will get $7 at the end of the week.”
“She is then required to pay her bills for living in the house,” Farley continued.
Her bills are a dollar each for food, water, electricity, internet, and rent — and wowza what a steal!

“So in total, she pays $5 for bills,” she added.
“She has $2 left over, which she can keep and save or spend,” Farley said. “I then take that $5 and put it into a savings for her, so that when she turns 18 she can learn that she made all that money on her own and know the value of money.”
Over six million people have watched Farey’s clip and their opinions were L-O-U-D.
