In November 2019, rapper and producer T.I. shocked the country when he revealed that he used to take his now 18-year-old daughter Deyjah Harris to her gynecology appointments so he could ask her doctor if her hymen was still intact.

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, T.I. made the comments while he was a guest on the Ladies Like Us podcast. However, while it’s been nearly three months since his interview made headlines, it seems as those the father is still making amends.

On January 26, NBA legend Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gigi, and seven other people were killed in a helicopter crash that took place in Calabasas, California. Like millions of people around the world, T.I. took to social media to express his condolences to Bryant’s wife Vanessa, his surviving three children, and the families of the other victims involved.

In his first of multiple posts dedicated to the tragedy, the rapper wrote, “Heartbreakingly painful to hear this. My family’s hearts go out to Mrs. Bryant & their beautiful children. Life’s too short, man. Love hard on your children & family & live every day like your last. Try to remind yourself to treat the people you love like you’ll never see them again. You never know… Prayers up for the Bryants.”

The father of six then went on to add in another post, “As a father, I can’t even imagine…May their spirits rest comfortably in the afterlife as their legend of love (for basketball & each other) live on forever. Love conquers all. Through all the bullsh*t life has to throw at us…Love is the only fool-proof tool we have. Live free & Love hard!!”

T.I. Publicly Apologizes to His Daughters on the Day Kobe Bryant Died Tragically

That same day, T.I. took to Instagram eight more times, each one encouraging people to love and forgive because you just never know where the day will take you. But one of the posts that caught people’s attention was the post he made about his daughters, Deyjah and Zonnique.

He began, “I love you, girls, more than my vocabulary will allow me to express. You have grown so much right before my very eyes & blossomed into strong, brilliantly opinionated, independent young women. I’m so proud of you both and I love you to no end, more than you’ll ever know.”

T.I. then went on to ask for forgiveness. “Please forgive me for any and all imperfections that cause misunderstandings between us. Charge my mind, not my heart.”

“You see Life may throw us curveballs & deal us some pretty bad hands at times. But rest assured, you’ll NEVER find yourself in a place too high or low for me to be there to catch you when you fall. I just can’t let another second go by without letting you know while we’re still here in this life together. You have ALL MY LOVE FOR ALL MY LIFE…&AFTER‼️”

Zonnique responded to her father’s heartfelt post in the comments section, writing, “I love you pops” with a series of heart emojis. Although Dayjah didn’t publicly respond, that’s not to say they haven’t made amends.

While a guest on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk, T.I. said that while his daughter was upset with him “she understands my intentions and she knows who I am, who I’ve always been.”
