It’s no secret that actor Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson is a great at his job, great at being a father, and an all-around great guy to his fans. But if you needed some more convincing, just watch the video he sent to a young boy who is currently battling cancer.
On November 18, Johnson took to Instagram to share a video after a “request came across my desk and punched me in the gut a bit.”
He continued saying that the request was sent to him by a good friend and came from the mother of a 3-year-old boy named Hyrum Harris.

According to Harris’ mother, who says he’s now “in the fight of his life,” Harris does his best to stay strong by watching MOANA up to 10 times a day because the character “he loves, MAUI, makes him feel strong.”
“According to Hyrum’s mama, his most important thing to say now is, I STRONG. Yes, you are, big man. Yes, you are. Hyrum, I know I’m a complete stranger to you – who sounds a lot like your hero, MAUI (only with a very large head), but myself along with millions of other strangers who will watch this video are sending you so much love, strength and mana your way. I STRONG. Love, the Rock aka the dude who sounds a lot like Maui.”

The note continued: “April said Hryum watched it and laughed [out] loud at The Rock’s head, and every time Dwayne said Hyrum’s name pointed to himself and giggled.” It then continued:
“Joy and hope costs nothing, and yet is the most powerful gift. Hyrum loved the video, but the family who sup all night working through medication with the baby, the nursing staff caring for all the sick children on the floor, the family across the USA who can’t be there in person – ALL were given a boost – that they aren’t alone, that we are with them in spirit, and they need a little help, they can borrow strength from The Rock.”

In an interview with April, Harris’ mom, she told People, “This has been such a moving experience for our family. [Johnson’s] response was beautiful.”
She continued: “Every time Dwayne mentioned Hyrum’s name, Hyrum pointed to his chest and in his soft sweet voice repeated saying, ‘Hyrum,’ as though he knew this was special for him. When the reference of a head being compared to the size of a rock [came], Hyrum giggled. When he began to sing, Hyrum’s eyes got very wide.”
April said they are amazed at the outpouring of love and support their little boy has received since Johnson’s video was posted. A GoFundMe has been set to help the family with medical expenses.
