A Florida teacher is in hot water after spraying her students with a heavy duty disinfectant when they failed to put their masks on in class during in-person learning.
A report by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office states how Christina Reszetar intentionally sprayed an aerosol sanitizer in an effort to curb the coronavirus.
Reszetar has been a math teacher for 21 years. But after a call to authorities due to a disturbance in her classroom at Largo High School in Largo, Florida, her employment was jeopardized in a major way.
Allegedly, Reszetar told officers how four of her students, who were attending school in-person, refused to wear their masks properly inside the classroom.
And as Reszetar was concerned about COVID-19 transmission — she admitted how she quickly became frustrated when students did not listen to her.

Reszetar admitted to spraying a heavy duty disinfectant toward her student. A police report confirms this, stating how she sprayed it into the “path of their faces and bodies” — which were likely ingested upon impact. To make matters more alarming is that Reszetar teaches math to a class of learning disabled students.
And while it is not clear just how much the teacher sprayed or for how long — the incident was severe enough that quite a few of Reszetar’s students were able to record video of it on their cellphones, which they later turned over to police.
After a review by investigators, Reszetar was arrested on three counts of child abuse with great bodily harm and spent one night behind bars.

And when she later appeared before a judge, Reszetar continued to bear the weight of her choices.
“I think I can fairly characterize this as a severely misguided attempt at discipline,” the judge informed her.
While she did not post bond, the teacher was permitted to return home. A spokeswoman for Pinellas County Schools confirmed that Reszetar’s case is still open and under investigation.
