In the final episode of the Flip or Flop series, stars Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack did not exactly end things on a high note.
During the taping for the series end, which will air Thursday at 8:00 PM, the formerly married pair take on a huge project to remodel a large, Spanish-style home that becomes massively costly due to a massive pool on the property.

“I hate dealing with flips that have pools because they can cost a fortune,” El Moussa says after touring the property. Haack takes another stance, trying to stay positive, and replies “Look on the bright side, we also get to do a fun design.”
Haack continues by listing a bunch of big design projects for the flip. “We could do that really cool glass tile or, because it’s Spanish, maybe a cool clay tile,” she tells El Moussa. “What about a waterslide?”
Her ex-husband listens but not with any excitement as Haack details her potential plans. He then abruptly tells her “no” and walks away. “Fill it up with water,” he says as he walks out of frame.
While the interaction is rather tame, it does underscore some of the on-set tensions the pair have been feeling. Just last week, as Mamas Uncut reported, the couple decided to abruptly end the program due to tense working conditions.
RELATED: Flip Or Flop Was ‘Too Intimate’ For Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa, Show Ends After 10 Seasons
Seven days ago, we reported that the couple had decided to end Flip or Flop after ten seasons that started way back in 2013. At that time, the stars were a married couple.
“Tarek and Christina are generally cordial.,” a source reportedly told People. “They’re co-parenting and nothing gets in the way of that,” adding, “The show was just too intimate of a setting at this point and it was time to close that chapter.”
“The writing has been on the wall for a while,” the source added. “It was not sudden.”
And, the source seems to be right as tension has reportedly been brewing behind the scenes for over a year. In July 2021, El Moussa screamed at Haack on set, going on to verbally abuse his ex-wife by comparing her to his now-wife, Heather Rae El Moussa, calling her a “washed-up loser,” according to TMZ, who first reported on the incident.
A source later explained to People how Tarek was “super remorseful” that he “lashed out.”
“They’re exes who share a history and children and a workplace, but outside of co-parenting, they’re not friends,” the source added.
Since divorcing, Haack and Tarek have moved on to new relationships. Haack went on to date Ant Anstead in October of 2017. They married in December of 2018 and went on to welcome a son, Hudson London, who is now 2. However, less than a year after their little boy’s birth in September 2020, the two parted ways and their divorce was finalized in June of 2021.
In July of 2021, Haack found herself in a new relationship with Austin-based realtor, Josh Hall. The two shared they were engaged in September.
While Tarek first met Heather on July 4, 2019. They got engaged while celebrating their 1 year anniversary and married in October 2021 in Montecito, California. Following their wedding, they opened up about their hopes to start a family and ongoing fertility journey.
Who knows what’s next for either of the reality TV stars as they plan to part ways. Could they each get their own HGTV shows? Are they flipped out? Only time will tell. We will fondly remember the passive aggression Flip or Flop brought to our screens for 10 seasons.
