After getting married last year, Tarek El Moussa and his wife Heather Rae El Moussa have made another exciting announcement. Both television personalities admitted it’s an announcement they didn’t see themselves making!
Tarek El Moussa Shares News That Shocks Everyone, Telling the World They Weren’t Even Expecting This
In an Instagram post shared by both Tarek and Heather Rae, the couple seemed ecstatic to announce that they are expecting their first child together. “Surprise!!! Baby El Moussa coming early 2023,” Tarek wrote on his post alongside several photos of his loving on Heather’s burgeoning baby bump while at the beach.
Heather shared the same post. Tarek is already the father of two children, whom he shares with his first wife Christina Haack. This will be his third child.
In an exclusive interview with People, the couple couldn’t be more excited to welcome a little one into the world. But it’s something they weren’t expecting.
“It was a huge shock,” Heather told People. “We just weren’t expecting this. We had just gone through IVF. We had embryos on ice. We had a plan.”
Nonetheless, while a pregnancy this soon wasn’t part of the plan, Heather is elated. “I think when you least expect it and there’s no stress in your life, the world just brought us what was meant to be. I’m so excited that it happened like this.”
Heather shared that it was Tarek who had the feeling that she needed to take a pregnancy test. Heather took two at first which both read “undetected,” so Heather took a third and they both went about their day.
“I took two more tests. Right away, [they said] pregnant,” she told People. Heather shared the news with Tarek by putting the test in a box of confetti next to a onesie.
At first, Tarek admits he thought it was a positive COVID test at first. “I swear, it was 30 seconds of him trying to put it together,” Heather joked.
It was about 20 minutes or so when Heather remembered to look at the results. By this time, Tarek had left for a meeting and when Heather saw the positive result, she screamed, scaring her assistant who was nearby.
As Heather has previously explained, she always felt like her life was complete as “a bonus mom” to Tarek’s kids, Taylor and Brayden. “When we first started dating three years ago, we went into our relationship not planning on having children together. I really love being a bonus mom to Taylor and Brayden. They’re such incredible kids and I love them so much,” Heather explained to People.
“But as your love grows more and more and you fall deeper in love with someone and you build this life together, I started picturing myself having a child with Tarek. I started thinking I just wanted to create something with the man that I’m in love with.”
And Tarek is over-the-moon about baby number 3 as well. “I’m just obsessed with my kids. They’re my everything, so having another one is just icing on the cake. I’m so excited.”
Heather continued by praising Tarek for being the awesome dad he is. “He’s such a good dad. That was another reason why I wanted to create something with him. Seeing him with Taylor and Braden, he’s just so obsessed with them. And he’s such a doting, amazing dad. I can’t wait to see him with our baby.”
The couple plans to find out the sex of the baby soon. Tarek has a feeling it’s a girl but Heather doesn’t have a feeling just yet.
“I just want a happy, healthy baby,” Heather said. “We already have Tay and Bray, so I’d be happy with either. But I secretly want a little mini Heather.”
