Gigi Hadid has been arrested and released.
According to E! News, renowned supermodel Gigi Hadid “was traveling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical license” when she was arrested in the Cayman Islands. She was arrested on July 10 immediately upon landing at Owen Roberts International Airport in a private plane after officials discovered the “ganja and utensils used for the consumption of ganja” in her bags.
In a statement shared by Hadid’s rep, they continued adding that marijuana “has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017.” While it remains unclear how long she was detained for, her rep revealed that Gigi’s “record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island.”
According to E! News, despite claiming Gigi’s record is still clear, she was in fact formally charged on July 12. Gigi and her traveling partner both pleaded guilty to the charges and were both given $1,000 fines.

Despite the arrested, what is accurate is that Gigi did seem to have a good time on her vacation. E! News reports that Gigi posted several photos herself on vacation as you can see above and below.
One of the images showcases what appears to be a dragon tattoo on her right hip. However, many fans in the comments section have speculated that the ink is only temporary.
Considering Hadid makes her millions modeling for some of the biggest designer brands in the world, the speculation that it is temporary is likely accurate.
Gigi shares a 2-year-old daughter with her ex, singer Zayn Malik. Thankfully, it doesn’t seem like her daughter was with her when the arrest took place.
