Tony Award winner Steve Kazee, who is currently dating Channing Tatum’s ex-wife, Jenna Dewan, caused a bit of commotion on social media with his latest Instagram Story.
On Oct. 29, the 49-year-old Broadway star posted a repetitive “HAHA” that nearly took up the entire screen. While his laughing didn’t come with any context, many fans were quick to speculate.
That’s because Kazee posted the story not long after news of Tatum’s alleged split with Zoë Kravitz went viral.

People was the first to report the breakup, which allegedly happened last weekend, on Oct. 29. According to multiple sources close to the couple, they “haven’t been on the same page and grew apart.”
Tatum and Kravitz started dating in 2021 after meeting on the set of her directorial debut, “Blink Twice.” They were together for two years before announcing their engagement in 2023.
Meanwhile, Kazee and Dewan started dating in 2018, shortly after her split from Tatum. The couple became engaged in 2020 and welcomed a son, Callum Michael Rebel Kazee, one month later.
They welcomed their second child, a daughter named Rhiannon Lee Kathryn Kazee, earlier this year.
Kazee clarifies meaning behind viral post
While fans were suspicious of the timing behind Kazee’s cryptic post, the “Once” actor returned to social media on Wednesday to clear things up.
“A guy can’t laugh about a houseplant Tik Tok in todays world I see,” he wrote in his Instagram story, seemingly referring to a funny video he shared shortly after the “HAHA” post.
The video featured a dying plant, with a text overlay that read, “The houseplant in my kitchen watching me put water in the coffee maker.”
He then posted a photo of his own dying houseplant. “See? It’s funny because it’s relatable,” he wrote, before telling his critics to “get a life.”
In a separate video, he gave a close-up shot of one of his dying houseplants, which was sitting right next to a water purifier.
Cryptic post comes a month after Tatum and Dewan finalized divorce
Tatum and Dewan originally met in 2006 while filming “Step Up.” They started dating shortly after and tied the knot on July 11, 2009, in Malibu, California.
The two welcomed a daughter, Everly, in 2013, but went their separate ways in 2018. Dewan filed for divorce later that year and the two were declared legally single in Nov. 2019.
But the divorce wasn’t finalized until last month, six years after the fact.
The Daily Mail was the first to report the divorce settlement on Sept. 25. It was confirmed by People later that day.
According to the report, the big hold up was due to a “clash over the profits connected to the Magic Mike franchise.”
