Steve Harvey and Marjorie Harvey are no strangers to people fabricating stories about their marriage in an effort to make them look bad, but they don’t always give those stories the time of day – until now. The couple decided to publicly address rumors that Marjorie cheated on Steve with their chef and bodyguard.
The rumors started circling on social media not too long ago. Without any evidence to support their claims, several social media users accused Marjorie Harvey of having multiple affairs during the couple’s 16 years of marriage. They also claimed that Marjorie was seeking $200 million in a divorce settlement.
According to both Marjorie and Steve Harvey, those rumors aren’t true and they decided to denounce those accusations publicly for the first time – Steve doing so in a speech at the Invest Fest in Atlanta this past weekend and Marjorie doing so in an Instagram post, which was published on Sunday (August 27).

“I’m fine. Marjorie fine. I don’t know what y’all are doing, but find something else to do, ‘cause we fine. Lord, have mercy,” Steve Harvey proclaimed at Invest Fest on August 27. “Sometimes … you wanna respond, but I ain’t got no time for rumor and gossip,” he added. “God been good to me. I’m still shining.”
That same day, his wife took to Instagram to share a blog post titled ‘How to Handle Being Lied About’ – it was published by Matt McMillen Ministries. In the caption, Marjorie Harvey urged her followers to ‘read and share this with your love[d] ones that may not know how to properly cope’ with being lied about.
“My husband and I don’t usually stop to address all the foolishness and lies that have been spread about us. However to whom much is given much is required. I understand that with my platform comes some sort of responsibility to those that may not be as strong as we are,” she wrote in the Instagram caption.
The couple felt the need to address the rumors after an X user (@Shadaya_Knight) slammed the couple in a lengthy post that accused Marjorie of infidelity and shamed Steve for ‘promoting a side chick.’ The post was filled with accusations, but those accusations weren’t met with any evidence whatsoever.
Steve Harvey Reveals How He Met Marjorie Harvey
On Tuesday (August 29), Steve Harvey took to X to share another edition of The Steve Files (No. 52 to be exact) – in which he explains the story behind meeting, dating, and eventually marrying his current wife, Marjorie Harvey. While they didn’t get married until 2007, they first met and dated back in 1986.
“I met her at a comedy club in 1986. She walked in late. I was on stage performing. I stopped my show, I looked at her – she’s the most beautiful girl I’d ever seen. I looked at her and I said, “Hey, lady I don’t know who you are, but I’m going to marry you one day,” he explained to his Family Feud audience.
They dated for a year and a half, but he ‘got in trouble’ and ‘lost everything’ – so he stopped traveling to Memphis and, since there were no cell phones back then, they lost touch with one another. They went their separate ways, got married to other partners, and had children about the same time as one another.
