It has almost been a full month since Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss shot himself in a motel room, where a suicide note was found. While friends, colleagues, and family members have had an opportunity to accept his tragic death, the pain and grief continue to run deep as they try to make sense of it all.
Of those still mourning his death is his mother, Connie Boss Alexander. While she has taken to her Instagram story on multiple occasions, she has mostly remained quiet regarding her son’s suicide. That is until January 7th, when she shared a long, touching, uplifting, and heartfelt new statement on Instagram.
“40 YRS 2 MTHS and 13 DAYS. STEPHEN LAUREL BOSS,” she began the caption. She shared a combination of photos and videos of her son – 10 in total – showing the type of family man he was. One thing that shined above everything else in her photos was his smile – one that could light up a room.
“There are no words adequate,” she wrote. “There are no words expansive enough to describe the height of my love nor the depth of the loss of my firstborn. I am so grateful God granted me the blessing and privilege of being his mother and bringing him into this world and sharing in the journey that was his life.”
His mother went on to talk about all the memories and mental pictures running through her mind – making note of the emotional rollercoaster she’s been through the past few weeks. “I smile, laugh, and cry at each memory of a moment in time,” she described, something any parent who lost their child can relate to.
“The little chubby cheeks and legs as a baby. Your first little photo shoot, you had bells on your shoelaces in the white buster browns and you’d get so excited and tickled each time you moved your feet and heard the tinkle thus when you realized you literally were about to jump off the staging table,” she reminisced.
She goes on to praise the technology we’re blessed with today, which allows her to see his face, embrace his smile, and hear his voice with the ‘click of a key.’ Of course, her fondest memories are of him in what she described as his ‘favorite role’ – a husband and father. “We will do all we can to epitomize your spirit.”
Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss Leaves Behind a Loving Family
Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss was going through a lot at the time of his death, but he wasn’t alone – he had a very loving and supportive family that he cared about greatly. In 2013, he married fellow So You Think You Can Dance? Alumni Allison Holker at the Villa San Juliette Vineyard and Winery in Paso Robles.
After officially tying the knot, tWitch adopted Holker’s daughter from a previous marriage – becoming a stepfather for the first time. They added to their family in March 2016 when they welcomed their first son into this world and later welcomed another daughter in November 2019 – they had three children total.
“Please continue to send prayers and love to Allison and the grandluvs, Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia, as well as our entire family, as we move forward in this new reality, day by day, without our Stephen’s physical presence. It is truly a blessing to witness the impact Stephen had on the world,” continued his mother.

Adding to the tragedy, Holker recently confirmed that she and tWitch had always talked about the potential of adding to their family in the near future – calling it a ‘constant conversation.’ That potential is no longer, but his legacy and loving spirit will live on through his mother, wife, three children, and the rest of his family.
