Jerry Harris. It’s a name you probably recognize if you were a fan of the ultra-popular Netflix docuseries Cheer.
Several months ago, in February, Harris pleaded guilty to two of the seven charges against him. The guilty pleas were part of his agreement.

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Harris pleaded guilty to “receiving child pornography and engaging in interstate travel for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual acts.” Additionally, prosecutors dropped his five other charges.
At the time, Harris’ lawyers said in a statement to E! News that he “entered a plea of guilty today because he wishes to take responsibility for his actions and publicly convey his remorse for the harm he has caused the victims in this case.”
Now, Jerry Harris has learned his fate. According to USA Today, Harris was sentenced to 12 years in prison. Following that, he will be required to complete eight years of court-supervised release.

During the sentencing hearing, friends and family of Harris’s spoke about his integrity and character. Prosecutors asked that Harris get 15 years, while his defense team asked for six.
His team alleged that Harris was also sexually abused as a child, adding that he had a “skewed version of what he understood to be appropriate relationships.”
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, in 2020, Harris allegedly repeatedly requested that a 17-year-old send him sexually explicit photos and videos in exchange for about $2,000. In 2019, he also reportedly traveled from Texas to Florida with the intent of engaging in illegal sexual conduct with a 15-year-old, who he later allegedly sexually assaulted in a public bathroom.
