Robyn and Kody Brown have made decisions when it comes to their relationship. It’s a decision that comes after all three of Robyn’s sister wives left Kody to explore the world of monogamous relationships.
In the newest episode of their reality show, Kody admitted that he has learned his lesson living a polyamorous lifestyle for nearly two decades. He and Robyn are now ready to live a monogamous lifestyle.
On Sister Wives: One on One, Brown told the host that he isn’t interested in Robyn, the wife he was always legally married to, recruiting another sister wife. “I would have to tell that woman I will never love you as much as I love her,” he added. “Now I know better.”
It has been six months since Season 17 of Sister Wives came to a conclusion and fans are still taking in the drama that unfolded between Kody Brown and his four sister wives. We started to see the downfall of his marriages, starting with Christine Brown – who announced her split from Kody in November 2021.
By the end of Season 17, his marriage to Janelle Brown was reportedly over and his marriage to Meri Brown was hanging by a thread – as it had been for 10+ years. The only wife in good standing with Kody was Robyn Brown, who was the unquestioned ‘favorite’ – a big reason why the others decided to leave.
While fans have known about Janelle’s separation since December 2022 and Meri’s separation since January 2023, they weren’t completely explored in Season 17 – leaving most of us wanting more. On July 10, TLC gave Sister Wives fans what they’ve been waiting for with the release of a trailer for Season 18.
The trailer promises a lot more drama and plenty of explosive fights – including the one that ended the relationship between Kody Brown and Janelle Brown. The two have several conversations about the future of their marriage and whether or not a plural marriage is what’s best as they grow and evolve.
You can view the trailer for Season 18 below:
“Do you really want us to have a plural family? Sometimes I can’t tell,” Janelle asks Kody in the trailer. In a separate argument, Kody asks Janelle, “So what partnership do we have?” – to which Janelle responds, “This is not only me, Kody. Don’t you dare point your finger at me.” Things only got heated from there.
In that same argument, Kody claims Janelle has been making the same excuse forever, but Janelle interjects by telling him to ‘shut [his] f***ing mouth and let [her] talk to [him] for a minute.’ It didn’t sit well with Kody, who proceeded to storm out of the house. “I’m done listening to you,” he says on his way out.
Janelle tried to grab him as he walked out of the door, but he kept going. “Okay, so we’re done?” Janelle asks – to which Kody responds, “Goodbye” before slamming the door behind him. It was likely the final fight between the two before ending their marriage for good. If fans wanted drama, they’re about to get it!
‘Sister Wives’ Season 18 Premieres on August 20 on TLC
The split between Kody Brown and Janelle Brown isn’t the only drama fans will see in Season 18 – they’ll also the downfall of his marriage to Meri Brown, which has been rocky since the show’s start in 2010. At the time of filming the new season, Meri was still trying to hold onto hope that Kody might change soon.
Unfortunately, that change never comes and she slowly begins to realize her future doesn’t belong in Flagstaff with Kody. “I don’t want you to think that I’m walking away, cause sorry, I still have hope,” Meri says in one clip. In a separate clip, she notifies Kody and Robyn that she doesn’t want to do this anymore.
Meanwhile, Robyn Brown starts to break down while sitting at a picnic table. “I wanted to sit on a porch with my sister wives – with our kids and our grandkids,” Robyn said with tears streaming down her face – thinking about what could’ve been if the sister wives stuck together. Unfortunately, she’s all alone now.
