Pink Is Going to Age Gracefully

We all have different ideas of what it means to age gracefully. Some people are open to plastic surgery or treatments to help keep the natural aging process at bay, while others focus on letting nature do its thing.

For pop singer, Pink, who has often pushed back against trolls who have criticized her appearance online, says she’d rather age naturally than rely on any kind of medical intervention.

Earlier this week, the singer posted a series of tweets, sharing an open letter to herself for her followers to read as well.

“Dear Me, you’re getting older. I see the lines. Especially when you smile. Your nose is getting bigger…You look (and feel) weird as you get used to this new reality. But your nose looks like your kids, and your face wrinkles where you laugh. And yeah, you idiot…[you] smoked.”

The singer continued, “Every once in a while, you consider altering your face, and then you watch a show where you want to see what the person is feeling…and their face doesn’t move. I cannot get behind it. I just can’t.”

Pink then concluded, “I’m fortunate because I’ve never really depended on my looks. I’ve decided that my talent and my individuality is far more important than my face. So get on board cause I am about to AGE THE OL FASHIONED WAY (in a tutu ruling s*** at 30 mph 100 feet in the air over 40 yasssssssss.”

This isn’t the first time Pink has spoken out about body positivity. Two years ago when the star was accepting the Video Vanguard Award at the VMAs, she took the opportunity to tell a story about her daughter who had told her she felt ugly.

In response, Pink said, she made a Powerpoint presentation about all of the androgynous rock stars that “live their truth” to help inspire her daughter to live hers.

She also pointed out to her daughter that she hasn’t changed for anybody, saying, “We don’t change. We take gravel and the shell and we make a pearl. And we help other people to change so they can see more kinds of beauty.”

Pink isn’t the only female performer who feels that way. Singer and talk show host Kelly Clarkson responded quickly to Pink’s comments, tweeting, “I feel you…except for, you know, the flying through the air thing.”
