As the investigation into the bronze medal for the floor final continues, it was revealed that another inquiry was not properly handled.
As new footage reveals the exact time stamps Jordan Chiles’ coach, Cecile Landi, issued the inquiry for Chiles, it was realized that an inquiry for Biles’ floor routine was not submitted.
Gymnastics Now took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share the video and audio submitted as part of Chiles’ appeal.
In the video, Biles asks Cecile if her other coach, Laurent Landi, is asking. Cecile replies saying, “He said he did.”
Laurent comes back seemingly irritated revealing they didn’t properly submit the inquiry for Biles. “They didn’t send it,” Cecile tells Biles as they both look upset.
Biles ultimately was given a score of 14.133 and the silver medal for her floor final routine, which included a 6.9 for difficulty, USA Today reports.
However, if she would have been gotten full credit for her split leap, it would have added 0.10 in difficulty to her score, leaving her with a total of 14.233.
That score would have put her ahead of gold medalist Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade, who scored a 14.166.
Now, Biles is speaking out.
On X, Biles responded to the discourse over her inquiry, saying, “Honestly, not a big deal for me, Rebeca had a better floor anyways.
“Upsetting how it wasn’t processed but I’m not mad at the results,” she conceded. “BUT JUSTICE FOR JORDAN, ya hear me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
As the video evidence continues, Cecile asks Laurent, “What about Jordan? You want to try?”
According to the rules, coaches only have one minute after the final score is revealed to request an inquiry.
Currently, the Court of Arbitration for Sport has stripped Chiles’ of her bronze medal saying the inquiry that was approved for Chiles’ was submitted 1 minute and 4 second after her final score was announced.
Chiles and her team say the video evidence and time stamps prove otherwise. In the video, the time stamp reveals that Cecile asks for a “inquiry for Jordan” twice before the 60 seconds are up.
