When many people think about Will Smith the first things that often come to mind are his movies, his wife of 23 years, Jada Pinkett Smith, his kids, and so on. However, some people may forget that Smith was married once before to the mother of his first son.
From 1992 to 1995, Will Smith was married to Sheree Zampino. Together they welcomed a little boy into the world named Trey. During a special Father’s Day episode of Jada’s Facebook show, Red Table Talk, Smith admitted that their “divorce was the worst thing in my adult life. Divorce was the ultimate failure for me.”
“I’ve been hurt a lot in my adult life, but I don’t think anything touches the failure of getting divorced from my [then] 2-year-old son’s mother,” Smith admitted. “If a man’s not a great husband then he loses his parental rights. And I’m a way better father than I am a husband.”
So Here are Five Things We Already Know About Sheree Zampino.
1. Zampino was the one who filed for divorce.
Sheree Zampino was the very first guest of Jada’s Red Table Talk. The mothers talked about their dynamic with each other and with Will Smith early on and the respect they have for each other now. During the episode, Zampino also opened up about her decision to “walk away” from her marriage to Will.

“I chose to walk away from the marriage. That’s a choice that I made. And even to this day thinking that I broke up a family. I didn’t give Trey what I wanted for him. I didn’t give him what he needed. You know, I didn’t give him what his brother and sister have. That’s hard. But you know, that’s what I have to live with.”
2. Despite their divorce, she and Will Smith still have a good relationship.
As evident via her discussion with Jada on the show, Sheree and Will are still on good terms even though their son is grown up now. On Father’s Day 2020, Sheree took to Instagram to share a video from back when Will Smith’s son was just 9 weeks old.
The video shows Will being Will as Sheree fed Trey. “I just had to,” Zampino wrote. “This serves as an early Happy Father’s Day shout out to the dumbest man I know! Will Smith thank you for Trey Smith.”
3. Sheree Zampino’s Kid Is Very Loved
One quick look at Zampino’s Instagram and it is very clear she loves being Trey’s mom. Although she never had more kids after she divorced Will, Trey remained the apple of her eye.
In a recent Instagram post that showed her and Trey from back when he was just a toddler, the mom of one wrote, “The joy this soul has brought me…. and continues to bring.”
And it’s not uncommon for Sheree to take random trips down memory lane and share them with her followers. She also recently shared a photo from Trey’s first birthday celebration, calling it one of her favorite pictures of all time.
In an interview with the popular divorce podcast known as Splitting Upward, Zampino revealed that although some people believed she also had a daughter named Jodie, the picture people used to confirm the rumor was actually of her and a little girl named Jodie Woods, who is the child of one of her friends.
4. Sheree Zampino never got remarried.
Who is Sheree Zampino’s husband now? Well, Zampino remarried some years after her marriage to Smith ended, to a man named Terrell Fletcher. However, they are no longer together now.
5. She is an actress, singer, and entrepreneur.
While she was once an actress and singer, Zampino is currently focusing on her role as an entrepreneur. The mom recently started an online store called Sheree Elizabeth Boutique. At the boutique, customers will find clothes, jewelry, and teeth jewelry. It’s something she has been doing for years and first got started at a church where she was once a first lady.
