When Nalani was first reported missing, police questioned Nancy and charged her with kidnapping, interference with custody of children, and concealment of the whereabouts of a child.
Nalani’s body was later found at a park in Blairsville, PA. The police investigation determined she was murdered.
A couple of months before her disappearance, Nalani’s father, Paul, began seeing Nancy, who drives for both Uber and Lyft.
He told police during the investigation that he and Nalani had gotten into Nancy’s car with a friend. He and the friend then exited the car and Nancy took off with his daughter inside. He tried to call Nancy after she took off, but she didn’t pick up. Police picked up Nancy a little while later, but Nalani was not in the vehicle.
At the time, Nancy told police that she had taken Nalani because her father had sold her to someone for $10,000. She told police she dropped Nalani off with that person and then left. However, it was determined that the story was false shortly thereafter.
Nancy is currently in the Allegheny County Jail. She has not yet entered a plea.
