Shane Dawson has been a popular YouTuber for years. And as he recently explained and apologized for, many of his videos over the years used “shock value” and offensive content for views and likes.
Much of that offensive content included blackface and a character he created that had become known as the “child molester character.” Now, Dawson is owning up to his behavior but two people are no longer here for his “excuses.”

Several days ago, a video of Shawn Dawson pretending to masturbate to a post of a then 11-year-old Willow Smith while singing her lyrics has recently resurfaced on social media. Willow’s mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, and her older brother Jaden Smith came across the video and are now speaking out about it.
Via Twitter, Pinkett Smith wrote bluntly, “To Shane Dawson … I’m done with the excuses.” But Jaden added a little bit more in the statements he made on Twitter.
“IM SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS,” Jaden began along with a slew of angry face emojis. “SHANE DAWSON I AM DISGUSTED BY YOU. YOU SEXUALIZING AN 11-YEAR-OLD GIRL WHO HAPPENS TO BE MY SISTER!!!!!! IS THE FURTHEST THING FROM FUNNY AND NOT OKAY IN THE SLIGHTEST BIT.”
Jaden then went on to talk about Dawson’s history with blackface and more. “This Man Was Also Doing Black Face On The Regular. As The Youth, We Need To Support Creators Who Support Us And Our Morals. This Is Not Okay.”
Jaden and Pinkett Smith’s tweets come just one day after Dawson post a video he titled “Taking Accountability.” In the video, Dawson addressed his moments of blackface as well as the “child molester character” he frequently portrayed.

“I swear on my life, I am not somebody who would ever talk about a child, like in seriousness, I would never talk about a child in any way that is inappropriate. That is disgusting, that is gross, it is not something I would ever do.It is something I did for shock value or because I thought it was funny or, like ‘Oh my god, my child molester character,’ or whatever. It’s all gross and I promise that is not real, that is not me.”
Dawson said he filmed this particular apology video to “own up” to his mistakes like that 31-year-old man he is. He even went on to say, he “hates” the person he was when he made all of the racist and derogatory videos in the past, and he means that “in the most intense way.”
