Game of Thrones alums Kit Harington and Rose Leslie have officially taken new leading roles as parents to a brand new baby boy. Harington and Leslie verified the news by stepping out with their newborn in a carrier in London on February 16. A representative for Harington told E! that the couple is “very very happy!”
If you happened to be one of the millions of people who watched Ygritte and Jon Snow’s doomed romance come to an end on the hit fantasy show, you are likely thrilled that these two are thriving together in the real world.
We learned of Rose Leslie’s pregnancy in September 2020 following a photoshoot for MAKE magazine in which the actor showed off her baby bump.
While the new mom disclosed virtually no other details, she did briefly touch on life at their weekend Tudor manor in East Anglia. You know, as one does when your father is the Aberdeenshire Chieftain of Clan Leslie in Scotland. Yes, Leslie is very much Scottish royalty.
“What a glorious thing to be able to run to the countryside and recoup,” she told MAKE. “It’s a great privilege to be surrounded by greenery, birdsong and hedgerows, and our delightful neighbours. It’s so peaceful.”
A month later, Leslie again addressed the private couple’s baby news. “I am thrilled to be expecting,” she told The New York Post, “and I can’t wait to meet the new member of our family!”
The couple tied the knot in 2018 in a beautiful ceremony at a Scottish castle that has been in Leslie’s family for nine centuries, because of course. The couple had been dating on and off before that since 2012.

“The wedding was perfect,” a source told E! at the time. “Family and friends were elated for Rose and Kit. It was a day of love and celebration and you could see it on everyone’s faces.”
The couple has yet to reveal the name of the newest member of their family. We would not be surprised in the least if it happens to be inspired, in part, by Game of Thrones, the vehicle that brought the actors together. We congratulate them and look forward to catching a glimpse of the newborn! Mazel tov!
