Entrepreneur and entertainer Rihanna is on the cover and filling the pages of British Vogue this May. The style icon outlines her 10-year plan and shares that she wants kids but isn’t picky about going at it alone or with a partner.

She’s joining a growing number of high profile businesswomen who’ve come out saying that motherhood is on the horizon and a partner isn’t a necessity. Earlier this year, Lady Gaga opened up about wanting a family and saying that she’s exploring surrogacy and adoption without a partner.

Rihanna doesn’t want just one kid. She’d like three or four.

“I’ll have kids — three or four of ’em,” she said and when asked if she’d do it as a single mom, “Hell, yeah.”

We’re here for this sort of energy! People reported back in January that she’d split from her boyfriend of three years, billionaire Hassan Jameel. That’s not stopping the 32-year-old. She’s got a 10-year plan and she’s sticking to it.

‘The only thing that matters is happiness,’ Rihanna said in the interview.

“I feel like society makes me want to feel like, ‘Oh, you got it wrong… ‘ They diminish you as a mother if there’s not a dad in your kids’ lives,” Rihanna explains. “But the only thing that matters is happiness — that’s the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child. That’s the only thing that can raise a child, truly, is love.”

This isn’t the first time Rihanna has opened up about wanting to become a mom. In a chat last June with actor Sarah Paulson for Interview, she said she wants kids “more than anything in life.”

Rihanna joked about potential pregnancy last November with Anna Wintour.

Rihanna joked Anna Wintour in a Q&A video after she was on the November cover of American Vogue last year. In the video, she joked that her future motherhood was all a part of “God’s plan.” She also quipped that she was “looking forward to all the pregnancy rumors after this interview.”

Well, that certainly is coming full circle. In addition to chatting with Wintour, Rihanna said in the accompanying interview in the magazine that she “Without a doubt” wants children.

Rihanna has a hands-on approach with all of the ventures of her life.

When Rihanna’s beauty brand Fenty Beauty launched in 2017, it was one of the biggest beauty product launches of all time. And, the pop star doesn’t just lend her name to the brand. She’s deeply involved with almost every aspect of the business.

She tells British Vogue that she writes, “all of the copy for the websites, the product descriptions, product names” and “the color names” for Fenty.

“I do have a huge team, but I just don’t necessarily think their tone is mine,” she explains. “I’d feel like a fraud selling something that I can’t stand by.”

That sort of savvy and authenticity is going to serve Rihanna well as a mother.

About her successful business, she said “I’m shocked by people saying, ‘Oh my God, what made you think of making makeup for black girls?’ I’m like, ‘What? You thought this was like a marketing strategy? Like I’m a genius?'” Rihanna says. “It’s shocking most of the time, then it turns into disappointment that this is groundbreaking right now. In my mind, this was just normal.”

We are living for the images from her Vogue shoot and we’re so excited that there might be some Rihanna babies in the future. If her success as a businesswoman, singer, and all-around icon is any indication, Rihanna will be an amazing mother. And of course, she’ll be doing that on her own terms.
