She credits her Little Fires Everywhere co-star, Kerry Washington, with giving her the recipe. Reese said, “I sat next to her at an awards show and I didn’t really know her, but said, “Your skin is so beautiful, what do you do?” And she said, ‘I actually think it’s this drink… it’s really changed my skin and it makes my hair and nails really strong’, so I was in.”

½ cup spinach, washed

Reese Witherspoon’s Green Smoothie Instructions:

Place the coconut water, lemon, banana, pear, apple, spinach, and celery (if using) in the blender first. Then add in the almond butter and as much romaine lettuce as you can until your blender is almost full.

You won’t be able to add in all of the lettuce at once. Blend and push the lettuce down with the blender tamper, adding more gradually until you’ve blended all of the lettuce. Pour in two jars or reusable bottles and refrigerate until cold. The ingredients above make 2-3 servings, so if you only want 1 serving, cut everything in half.

Pro-Tip:

Although the original recipe didn’t call for this, I did find that the smoothie tastes MUCH better after it’s been in the refrigerator for a bit. I suggest placing the finished drink in the fridge for 2-3 hours before drinking it for the best taste.
