Queen Elizabeth has broken her silence about late Prince Philip for the first time since his death.
The Queen, 95, recalled how much love both she and her late husband shared for Scotland in her address at the opening ceremony for the sixth session of the Scottish Parliament this past Saturday.

“I have spoken before of my deep and abiding affection for this wonderful country, and of the many happy memories Prince Philip and I always held of our time here,” the Queen stated.
“It is often said that it is the people that make a place, and there are few places where this is truer than in Scotland, as we have seen in recent times.”
A short sentiment but sweet nonetheless. Reportedly, Prince Philip‘s will is to set to remain a secret for at least 90 years to protect the “dignity and standing” of the Queen, the High Court has ruled.
It is common that when a senior member of the Royal Family passes, the courts are asked to seal their wills. There will be a private process in 90 years to decide if it can be unsealed.
The hearing into the application to seal the will was also held in private in July by Sir Andrew McFarlane. He heard arguments from lawyers representing the duke’s estate as well as the attorney general and the government’s chief legal adviser. The ruling was published last month.
Prince William and Prince Harry‘s did not make nice when they attended their late grandfather Prince Philip’s funeral.
Robert Lacey, author of Battle of Brothers and consultant to Netflix’s The Crown, penned in a recent article that while many hoped the funeral “would bring the warring brothers together in an atmosphere of reflection,” the end result didn’t quite hit the mark.
While the two did speak in a public chat outside of St. George’s Chapel that day, it wasn’t long before the two broke out in an argument “within minutes of the siblings getting inside the castle and beyond camera vision,” according to the royal historian.
“They started quarreling again,” he added.
“There they were, at each other’s throats as fiercely as ever,” a friend of the family told Lacey. “The rage and anger between those two has grown so incredibly deep. Too many harsh and wounding things have been said.”
