Prince Harry on What He Hopes for His Father and Brother and Why He Continues to Speak Out

In just 8 short days, the long awaiting memoir written by Prince Harry himself will hit the bookshelves. The book is touted as a “firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”

And while the world eagerly awaits the memoir titled Spare, Prince Harry sat down to talk with Anderson Cooper and Tom Bradby. In his interview with Bradby, Harry admitted that he would like to get his family back.

Prince Harry on What He Hopes for His Father and Brother and Why He Continues to Speak Out

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently premiered their 6-part documentary on Netflix. In the documentary, Harry and Meghan gave a deep look into how the institution that is the Royal Family really works and the warped relationship it has with the “royal ROTA” which is comprised of several British tabloids.

In the end, Prince Harry believed he and Meghan Markle had no other choice but to leave the royal family for good after Meghan became the target of blatant lies and tabloid fodder. But as Harry told Bradby, it never needed to go this far.

“It never needed to be this way,” Harry admitted before referring to “the leaking and the planting” of stories in the British press. “I want a family, not an institution.”

Harry continued to say “they feel as though it is better to keep us somehow as the villains,” and “they have shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile.” However, it is not exactly clear if Harry was talking about the institution in the clip.

That’s when Harry also tells Bradby that “I would like to get my father back. I would like to have my brother back.”

Harry also answered questions about his decision to make all of this public, rather than deal with it publicly. While talking with Cooper, Harry said, “Every single time I tried to do it privately, there have been briefings and leakings and planting of stories against me and my wife. You know, the family motto is ‘never complain, never explain’ … it’s just a motto and it doesn’t really … hold.”

The Prince then reiterated how the institution has handled leaks when it came to him and Meghan. “Through leaks, they will speak or have a conversation with the correspondent, and that correspondent will literally be spoon-fed information and write the story, and at the bottom of it they will say they reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment, but the whole story is Buckingham Palace commenting,” Harry explained.

“So when we’re being told for the last six years we can’t put a statement out to protect you, but you do it for other members of the family, there becomes a point when silence is betrayal.”

It was made quite clear to those who watched their Netflix documentary the sheer hatred that was thrown at Meghan Markle and subsequently Prince Harry after the pair married in 2018 and had their first child in 2019. It was when Harry said his family turned their backs on them despite their cries for help that Harry and Meghan made the decision to seek changes.
