While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have rarely made public appearances since stepping down as working members of the Royal family three years ago, the famous couple did so last night.

On May 16, Harry and Meghan made a rare red carpet appearance. Harry was dressed in a simple black suit and tie while Meghan donned a gorgeous formfitting gold dress, pictures from the red carpet moment revealed.

However, Harry and Meghan were subjected to terrifying circumstances after the appearance. Circumstances that will give people Princess Diana flashbacks.

In a statement shared by Prince Harry’s spokesperson, the event the couple attended was in New York City. Meghan was asked to attend the ceremony to be honored for her work, Reuters reported. Her mother, Doria was also in attendance.

But when the trio left the event, the paparazzi got aggressive trying to get their shot.

“Last night, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms. Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi,” the spokesperson said.

“This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians, and two NYPD (New York Police Department) officers.”

When asked if Buckingham Palace would like to respond to what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle endured, considering how Princess Diana passed away, the palace replied with “no comment.”

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Prince Harry was recently spotted at his father King Charles’ coronation on May 6th. May 6th was also Harry’s son, Archie’s, fourth birthday.

Meghan has made the decision to stay home with her and Harry’s two children in order to celebrate Archie’s fourth birthday. As you may recall, this isn’t the first time a major Royal family celebration overshadowed Harry’s children’s birthdays.

As Mamas Uncut reported last year, their daughter, Lilibet’s, first birthday was overshadowed by Queen Elizabeth’s final jubilee. Both Harry and Meghan made the decision to attend that celebration, opting to celebrate Lilibet at their Frogmore cottage.

However, Meghan and Harry no longer own or have access to the cottage, which could possibly have something to do with Meghan’s decision to stay in California with Archie and Lilibet.

This will be one of the first times Harry will be spending time with his family since the release of his Tell-All memoir, which he calls a “firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”

In a past interview, Harry admitted that the relationship with his family “never needed to be this way,” before referring to “the leaking and the planting” of stories in the British press. “I want a family, not an institution.”

Harry continued to say the institution “feels as though it is better to keep us somehow as the villains,” and that “they have shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile. I would like to get my father back. I would like to have my brother back.”

It was reported that Harry and William completely avoided each other during the coronation. So it seems that reconciliation won’t be coming any time soon.
