If their interview with Oprah Winfrey didn’t drive a big enough wedge between Prince Harry and the Royal Family, then his interview while a guest of Dax Shepard’s podcast Armchair Expert may have.
Last week, Prince Harry sat down with actor Dax Shepard and his podcast co-host Monica Padman and recorded an episode of Armchair Expert.
In the interview, Harry talked about mental health, growing up privileged, and the cycle of “pain and suffering” that come with being a member of the British royal family.

And that’s not event the half of it.
While talking about growing up royal, Harry said this, “When it comes to parenting, if I’ve experienced some form of pain or suffering because of the pain or suffering that perhaps my father or my parents had suffered, I’m going to make sure I break that cycle so that I don’t pass it on.”
“It’s a lot of genetic pain and suffering that gets passed on anyway so we as parents should be doing the most we can to try and say ‘you know what, that happened to me, I’m going to make sure that doesn’t happen to you.”’
And this was seemingly a plan Harry had even prior to meeting, marrying, and having kids with Meghan Markle.
As Prince Harry explained, as he got older, he began to realize that Prince Charles was raising him in the same way he was raised.
That was a cycle Harry wanted to break.
“I never saw it, I never knew about it, and then suddenly I started to piece it together and go ‘OK, so this is where he went to school, this is what happened, I know this about his life, I also know that is connected to his parents so that means he’s treated me the way he was treated, so how can I change that for my own kids?
And that’s exactly what Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle did by stepping down and leaving Britain for America.
Prince Harry’s Crazy Twenties
Prince Harry also admitted that “going wild” and partying heavily in his twenties was something he did as he struggled with how he was feeling about the live that had been planned out for him.
Partying was essentially masking the inner thoughts he was having, which consisted of, “I don’t want this job, I don’t want to be here, I don’t want to be doing this, look what it did to my mum,” he said referencing Princess Diana’s death in 1997.
In fact, he went as far as to compare living under the scrutiny of the media in the UK as a “mix between ‘The Truman Show’ and being in a zoo.”
For those of you who don’t know what The Truman Show is, Harry was referencing a movie that starred Jim Carrey in which his character learns that his life is actually just a reality show that other people are watching for their own entertainment.
It was so intense that it became a full-time job evading the cameras. Prince Harry went on to share how the first time he and Meghan “met up for her to come and stay with me we met up in a supermarket in London pretending as though we didn’t know each other.”
Surprisingly, Harry admitted that life did get easier for him and Meghan after they moved back to America.
“Living here now I can actually lift my head and actually I feel different. You can walk around feeling a little bit more free,” Prince Harry told Dax. “I get to take Archie on the back of my bicycle. I would never have had the chance to do that.”
Soon, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be running behind two bikes as the couple is expecting their second child this summer.
According to reports, the palace was also unhappy with this interview much like they were with the Oprah interview.
However, Prince Harry will be traveling back to Britain soon to attend a tribute event in honor of Princess Diana’s 60th Birthday.
He is expected to attend the event with Prince William, a relationship that has been reportedly rocky for a while now.
According to a source for News.Com.Au, “Things between Harry and William have been terrible since Megxit, then Harry and Meghan gave that nuclear Oprah interview, and now Harry has spoken out again. It’s just one thing after the other.”
