Prince Harry celebrated his first Father’s Day by sharing a sweet photo of newborn son, Archie Harrison. The picture shows Archie gripping Prince Harry’s hand while his big brown eyes stare into the camera.
Prince Harry and wife, Duchess Meghan Markle, has been privately enjoying time with their new little bundle of joy, sharing limited photos with the world. Fans were delighted to see a photo of the little prince on their feed.
@diaryofafitmommyofficial said, “Oh my heart! Happy Father’s Day Harry!” @janieclairmontdesign said, “I love this! Protecting Archie’s full identify and showing Harry’s wedding ring to represent their love and commitment. Happy Fathers Day.” @maiakill shared “This is truly a beautiful and touching picture! From what i can see Harry and Meghan are amazing parents! Archie is so lucky to have parents who love him, care for him and protect him!♥♥♥ Happy father’s day everyone!”
There were some fans, though, who wondered why the image didn’t show all of Archie’s face. Fans defended the choice, noting it was up to the couple what they wanted to share of their life with Archie. Fan @ollie.bearandme said, “Love the photograph. Seems to me it’s the parent’s decision whether to show their baby’s photo or not. Not our call. I’m going to enjoy what and when they decide to share. Happy Father’s Day to you Prince Harry.”
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Hire Nanny for Archie
In other Royals news, it appears as if baby Archie has a new nanny! The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been quietly enjoying time with son Archie at their new home, Frogmore Cottage. Duchess Meghan is currently on maternity leave, but like any new mom, she is already planning ahead for when she returns to her royal duties this fall.
As the Duke and Duchess prepare for a busy summer and fall schedule, they have made the decision to hire a full-time nanny. Sources confirmed to Harper’s Bazaar that the female, British-born nanny will not be permanently based at the Duke and Duchess’ Cottage and will not work on weekends.
Though the couple will have help, the Duchess is a very hands-on mom and has been up during the night nursing and feeding on demand every few hours, royal expert Katie Nicholl told ETOnline.
In addition to returning to her royal duties this fall, Duchess Meghan is also planning a two-week tour of Africa this fall with Prince Harry. While it has not yet been confirmed if Archie will be joining his parents, sources say it’s “increasingly likely.” According to Harpe’rs Bazaar, the itinerary would include visits to Malawi, where Prince Harry will stop at his charity Sentebale, and Angola, where the government is working to clear landmines from two national parks. Visits to Botswana and South Africa will most likely be on the agenda as well. Buckingham Palace will share the final itinerary in July.
As the couple adjusts to being new parents, a friend shared with Harper’s Bazaar that, “Family life could not be more perfect for [Harry and Meghan]. Ever since Archie arrived they haven’t stopped smiling. The sleepless nights are totally worth it.”
