One stepmom is getting grilled for publicly asking an Instagram account for advice on how to “get rid” of her 4-year-old stepdaughter.
The account, which is run by life coach Miriã Mercédes Valentin, recently shared an anonymous letter sent to her, and it was reshared on the Reddit forum r/bridezillas.
“My fiancé has a 4-year-old daughter, her mother passed away when she was born,” the letter began. “We are set to get married in 2022,” she explained. “I am also 7 months pregnant with a precious little girl.”
She then launches into her argument as to why she is totally justified with sending away her fiancé’s daughter to her grandparents or to a family who wants to adopt.
“To be quite honest, she gets on my d*** nerves,” she wrote. She made note of how her stepdaughter not only looks like her deceased mother but also is “very attached to daddy.”
“I’m afraid she’s going to take away from my child’s bond with her father,” she wrote. “I don’t know how to approach the situation, but I need to convince my fiancé to let her go,” she added. She then swore up and down how she was not a “bad person.”
“I’m just trying to look out for my child and make sure she receives all of her daddy’s attention without having her ‘older sister’ intervene,” she continued. “Please help!”
One commenter said: “This has got to be one of worse, sickest things I’ve ever read on bridezilla. She met him with a daughter & now she wants him to just get rid of her, what the f***. Hope buddy smells the coffee, wakes up & tells her to take a flying leap.”
While another said: “[It’s] not like the mom who passed was abusive and drug-addicted. She feels threatened that she isn’t better than this woman. Like Jesus did she even try to bond with the 4-year-old. I am sure she was absolutely craving a mother figure and this lady pushed her away. No wonder she is a daddy’s girl. For people who are eager to start arguing and jump to conclusions I have written more in answer to other posters and will note that.”
“A. No child should be thrown out on account of a woman’s insecurities. B. I detest this woman for acting this way. C. It is a situation I have seen an outcome for, as this happened to my grandmother.”
