The death of the lifestyle influencer, Emily Mitchell, has finally been determined by a medical examiner.
Mitchell, 33, was eating breakfast on the morning of Dec. 22 when she suddenly became unresponsive. She was expecting her fifth child.
According to a GoFundMe page for the family, the mom blogger died of a pulmonary embolism.
While the condition is common, it can be fatal and pregnant women are usually at higher risk.
A friend announced the update on behalf of Mitchell’s husband, Joseph.

“A few days ago we learned from the state Medical Examiners Office that the official cause of death was a pulmonary embolism.”
“Although it is challenging to wrap our heads around how this could have happened, we know all first responders and medical personnel did everything they could to help, and therefore we are certain that it was simply her time; the Lord was calling her home.”
On Nov. 19 — Mitchell shared the news of her most recent pregnancy with her 174,000 followers. It was unclear when the baby was due. And on Dec. 8, she wrote to her followers that she would be undergoing her fifth Caesarean section.

Her social media account would often discuss the rollercoaster that is raising a family of four — along with homeschooling — Finn, Isla, Edie and Luna.
“Beautiful inside and out, Emily had an infectious smile and a kind, compassionate spirit,” her online obituary read.
“Her exuberant personality radiated outwardly in her interactions and relationships with all who knew her. Emily was a symbol of strength during the most challenging of times for so many.”
