Stranger danger alert! According to NYPD, four men were spotted in Brooklyn attempting to lure children into their car with candy. Fortunately, the kidnapping was averted when the kids refused to fall for the candy bait.
The men were reported on October 5 after they approached two boys between Sunset Park and Borough Park, Brooklyn.

According to CBS New York, the children, ages 10 and 11, heard the men saying something like, “Come here boys, come here” near 47th Street and 18th Avenue.
It is believed that the group of men approached a second pair of children soon after the first incident. A 12-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy were walking on 55th Street, when they were offered candy. Thankfully, they did not comply.
The children’s mother shared the terrifying story with NBC New York. “The car stopped and he said, ‘Come, come over here, we have candies for you. They started getting out of the car. And once they got out of the car, [the kids] ran for their life.”
The exact car model has yet to be confirmed, but NBC reports that the suspects were driving a Toyota Rav 4. According to Pix 11, the vehicle was blue.
Police are seeking any info you might have about this attempted child-luring. Submit tips to police by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), visiting www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
