Editor’s Note: This article previously reported that Shan’ann, Bella, and CeCe Watts passed away on August 12. It has been corrected to report that they died on August 13. We regret this error.
By now, everyone has seen the Netflix documentary, American Murder: The Family Next Door. The documentary is a deep look into a man known as Chris Watts and the lengths he went in claiming the lives of his pregnant wife and two young daughters and his attempt to cover up the horrific murders.
Now, Chris Watts is serving five consecutive life sentences for the four lives he took on August 13, 2018. As the documentary revealed, Watts was having an affair at the time he took the lives of his family members.

People Are Convinced They Saw Ghost of One of Chris Watts’ Daughter on Netflix Documentary
And while the documentary, which identified Watts mistress by first and last name causing her to file for a legal name change, took an in-depth look into the moment Shan’ann Watts arrived home from a business trip to the moment Chris confessed to the murders after failing a lie detector test, people are pretty hung up on one small part of the nearly 2-hour documentary.
In the documentary, people got a first-hand look at the body cam footage captured by the police officer who responded to the initial calls that Shan’ann and her two daughters, Bella and Celeste, were missing. During the playing of that footage, viewers noticed a little girl walking around the home.
Now many are questioning whether or not that was the ghost of one of Watts’ daughters. According to a YouTube video posted by a man named Arthur Cant, it points out the small child. Take a look:
If you missed it, focus on the brightly painted room in the left-hand corner of the video. It’s there that you will see a small child come in and out of the frame a few times.
While some people are convinced that the child is the ghost of either Bella or CeCe Watts, many are claiming that it’s the child of the filmmaker, Jenny Popplewell. However, that claim doesn’t make too much sense either seeing as though this footage was captured just hours after Shan’ann, Bella, and CeCe were killed before the world ever knew about their tragic deaths and Chris Watts’ involvement.
What does happen to make more sense is that the child could belong to Shan’ann’s friend, Nickole Atkinson. The other woman seen in the officer’s bodycam footage is the last person, aside from Chris, to have seen Shan’ann alive. Shan’ann and Atkinson were together the night Shan’ann was murdered because they were on their way home from a business trip and Atkinson had dropped Shan’ann off at home.
“The child is definitely Nickole’s daughter. There’s police video of her daughter with [Nickole] outside of the house when [Chris Watts] pulls up to the house with his truck. You can see [her] daughter and her clothes and hair match perfectly with the little girl upstairs.”
“[Nickole’s daughter] is seen in several [places] (outside and in the other guy’s arms heading downstairs) in the bodycam footage,” another commenter wrote. “He even says, ‘She’s just playing’ and gestures to the back room where the daughter is seen.”
People were also freaked out by the light seemingly turning off on its own in the same clip. But if you look closely, Atkinson’s son is seen quickly flicking the light switch. It does happen fast, so if you blink, you might miss it.
