For those of you that haven’t heard yet – Paris Hilton is officially a mother to a baby boy, who was born via surrogacy in January. Not much has been revealed about her son as she and her husband, Carter Reum, have decided to keep the news as private as possible. All we have is a photo of the baby’s hand, that is, until now.
On a recent episode of This Is Paris, the star’s podcast on iHeartRadio, she revealed her son’s name for the first time – Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum – and even provided the inspiration behind the unique name. Believe it or not, it’s a name that she had thought of nearly 10 years ago.
In the podcast, she reads an excerpt from her upcoming memoir titled Paris, which is set to release on March 2, and talks about her life at large. The excerpt was written before the baby was born but expresses her intent on naming her child Phoenix after ‘searching cities, countries, and states on a map.’
“Phoenix has a few good pop culture reference points, but more importantly, it’s the bird that flames out and then rises from the ashes to fly again,” she said – adding that she wanted a name that went with both Paris and London. She previously expressed naming her future daughter London after her favorite city.
She went on to explain that she wants her son to ‘grow up knowing that disaster and triumph go around and come around throughout our lives. And that this should give us great hope for the future.’ She also shared the excerpt in an Instagram post on February 22, which doubled as a promo for her memoir.
That explains the meaning behind her little one’s first name, Phoenix, but she went on to explain the inspiration behind the middle name – Barron Hilton, her late grandfather. Barron was the first owner of the Los Angeles Chargers before entering the emerging hotel industry with his father, Conrad Hilton.
“He was always my mentor. I looked up to my grandfather so much, and we were so close, and I miss him every day. So, I really wanted to honor him by having his name in my first son’s name. So there you go. My beautiful baby boy’s name is Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum,” she continued in the Paris excerpt.
Paris Hilton Is Excited and Ready to Be a Mother
To open the podcast, Paris Hilton was gleaming with excitement over her new baby and expressed how special of a time this is for her and her husband, Carter Reum. While this is her first-ever child – and likely not her last – her husband is already a father to a daughter, who he shares with Laura Bellizzi.
Hilton went on to express how the couple has decided to keep ‘everything really private’ for the time being, adding that even her mother, sisters, and best friend were unaware of the birth until a week after. She explained how important it was for her and her husband to share this precious moment together.
“As you all know, Carter and I have been blessed with the arrival of our baby boy. He is such a precious angel, and we’re over the moon, so in love with him. We’re just so excited to start our family, and we can’t wait for you to see him,” she said at the beginning of her podcast. “I feel like my life is so complete now.”

Hilton and Reum started dating in December 2019 and quickly fell in love, becoming engaged on February 13, 2021, and officially tying the knot on November 11, 2021. “I’m so happy I found the perfect partner. Carter, he is such an angel and such an incredible father,” she boasted of her husband.
