In one of the longest songs on Adele’s newest album, 30, the legendary singer opens up about being a parent while going through a divorce. As reports have stated, Adele and her ex-husband, Simon, finalized their divorce this year.
The former couple married in 2018 after welcoming a child together in 2012. Angelo is now 9 years old and over the last year, he and his mom endured several conversations which explained the reason why Adele divorced his father.

The lyrics from her song My Little Love, which now can be heard, anywhere music is streamed are hitting people hard. The song features voice memos from conversations she had with Angelo over the last year, and it is very emotional to listen to.
At the beginning of the song, she lets Angelo know that she doesn’t like anyone the way she likes her son. She then explains to him that she’s feeling “big feelings” and why those feelings are so big.
“I’m feeling like I’m trapped, like, um, I feel a bit confused,” Adele tells her son who inquisitively asks “why?” “I don’t know,” the singer responds. “And I feel like I don’t really know what I’m doing.’
“Oh, at all,” Angelo says. “At all,” his mom says back.
It’s amazing how preceptive young children can be. As the song continues, a part of the lyrics reveals Adele apologizing to her son. “I’m so sorry if what I’ve done makes you feel sad,” she sings seemingly talking about her divorce from Simon.
As the voice notes continue throughout the song, Adele admits to Angelo that she still loves his dad, “because he gave you to me. You’re half me and you’re half daddy,” the singer says.
Adele continues to get even more honest in the voice memo, admitting that she’s having a very bad day and that it’s making her feel anxious, paranoid, and stressed. She admits to being hungover and that this is the first time since she left her ex-husband that she feels “lonely.”
“I never feel lonely, I love being on my own. I always preferred being on my own than being with people. And feel like maybe I’ve been, like, overcompensating.”
As the song comes to an end, she admits that she’s finally ready to lean in to those feelings of being lonely but admits that she’s also scared because “I might feel like this a lot.”
The song has garnered a lot of attention. And many people are feeling the emotions in all of Adele’s new songs, but this one in particular.
