Sharon Osbourne Opens Up About Ozzy Osbourne’s Heartbreaking Parkinson’s Diagnosis

After enduring a life-altering surgery just a few months ago, Ozzy Osbourne says he’s making a big move. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Osbourne underwent major back surgery to repair an old injury he sustained following a nasty fall several years ago.

Thankfully, as Osbourne’s family revealed in a statement, Osbourne’s surgery was successful. “Our family would like to express so much gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love and support leading up to Ozzy’s surgery! Ozzy is doing well and on the road to recovery! Your love means the world to him.”

Roughly one month after the rock star underwent the lifesaving surgery, photos of him using a cane to walk around went going viral. Page six reported that the surgery was to put more pins in his back and neck in order to realign them as a result of his fall in 2019.

Prior to the surgery, Sharon admitted Ozzy couldn’t walk properly. This surgery was a way to hopefully fix that.

It seems like Ozzy is still in recovery but thankfully up and walking around as recently surfaced photos show him with his wife and children outside. However, the photos also show him using a cane to get around.

And while her husband is on the mend, Ozzy’s wife, Sharon, is now opening up about how all of Ozzy’s health issues lately have affected them as a family. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, in addition to his back surgery due to an old injury, Ozzy has also been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. “Suddenly, your life just stops — life as you knew it,” Sharon said of Ozzy’s diagnosis.

Sharon had been talking to broadcaster Jeremy Paxman, who is creating a documentary about living with Parkinson’s. “I just think of my husband who was very energetic, loved to go out for walks, did a two-hour show on stage every night, running around like a crazy man,” Sharon continued.

“When I look at my husband, my heart breaks for him. I’m sad for myself to see him that way, but what he goes through is worse. When I look at him and he doesn’t know, I’m, like, crying.” However, Sharon says the diagnosis has brought some good into their lives. “The positive thing is we spend much more time together as a family and I love my husband more than I do three years ago.”

Now Ozzy Osbourne is making another big announcement; he’s leaving America. For years, Ozzy, his wife, and their children have called California home.

But after the states have endured a slew of mass shootings, Osbourne says he’s had enough of the gun violence. Osbourne is native to England and says he will return to the place where he was born.

The singer told the Observer, “Everything’s f*cking ridiculous there. I’m fed up with people getting killed every day. God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings. And there was that mass shooting in Vegas at that concert … it’s f*cking crazy.”

“And I don’t want to die in America. I don’t want to be buried in f*cking Forest Lawn. I’m English. I want to be back. But saying that, if my wife said we’ve got to go and live in Timbuktu, I’ll go. But, no, it’s just time for me to come home.”

Sharon admits she’s on board with the decision to leave America as well. “I knew people would think that. It’s not. It’s just time. America has changed so drastically. It isn’t the United States of America at all. Nothing’s united about it. It’s a very weird place to live right now.”

In the same interview, Ozzy opened up about why he decided to get back surgery now. He admitted the pain had become too much to bear.

“The screws had come loose and were chipping away at the bone. And the debris had lodged under his spine. So his spine, instead of being like this, was like this,” says Sharon, straightening up then hunching over.

“With the pressing on the spinal column, I got nerve pain. I’d never f*cking heard of nerve pain,” Ozzy added. “You know when you’re a kid, and you’re playing with snow and your hands get really cold? Then you go in and you pour on hot water, and they start getting warm? And you get those chills? And it f*cking hurts? It’s like that. It got so bad that at one point I thought: ‘Oh God, please don’t let me wake up tomorrow morning.’ Because it was f*cking agony.”

It remains unclear what Sharon and Ozzy’s children will do. After all, they all have children of their own, and Sharon and Ozzy are very dedicated to their grandchildren.
