A woman, her son and their dog get stuck in a chicken coop — and no, this is not the beginning of a joke.
“As an officer, you just never know what the day may bring… yesterday was no exception for Officer Criswell,” the Facebook post first began…
“Around 10:45 yesterday morning we received an urgent call for help through 911. The reporting party called in stating their neighbors (a mom and child) were in immediate need of assistance.”
The post continued on, revealing which officer was able to save the day…
“Officer Criswell answered their call for help. And what happened next is nothing short of heroic…”
Last Tuesday, a wind blew through the coop’s door shut and trapped the family inside the coop — which locks from the outside.
The Oklahoma City Police Department then received a frantic 911 call from a concerned citizen.
“They were outside in their backyard feeding the chickens and ducks and they got locked into the pen,” the citizen said. “We need some help. Do you know if an officer can come out and help us?”

And while the mom was worried sick, the little boy seemed to enjoy his time with his feather-friends.
The officer who rescued the trio made the kiddo a junior officer and the little boy wrote his a sweet thank you note, saying: “My momma was just about going crazy. I was just having fun with the ducks and the chickens, so I was fine.”
He ended the heartfelt note with: “Thank you for all the small and big things you do for our community.”
