Earlier this week, NFL star Odell Beckham Jr. took to Instagram to share photos of himself and his mom enjoying a mother-son “date” night as he called it.
The photos depicted a mother and her son enjoying time together; laugh, smiling, enjoying an embrace or two.
“Date night with Ma Dukes,” Odell Beckham Jr. wrote in the caption, alongside a heart emoji and a heart eyes emoji.
The post was simply meant to celebrate their relationship, “Remember who stood by your side as you rebuilt yourself,” the quote Odell shared read. “Those are your people.”
However, while the post seemed innocent enough, people took offense to some of the images. One of the images Odell shared had to be censored.
“Having to put emojis on your own mom’s goods is WILD.! ???????????????? and her wearing that around you is even MORE WILD,” one commenter wrote.
“She wild for wearing that, and you wilder for posting it lol,” another added.
But others came to Odell and Heather’s defense. “Imagine seeing mother and son happy and enjoying life and yall think about hateful comments,” one person shared.
“His mom is goals! Wait till I have a son that age and my body still look good like that I’m for sure showing it off! With or without my son! That’s the real tea,” another added.

The comments however didn’t seem to face Odell or his mom, Heather, who commented on the post, writing, “I LOVT YOU MORE!” To which, Odell responded, seemingly revealing that he had dressed his mom.
“Had to put u in all Rick cuz I been Owen you for all these years!!!!!” Rick Owens is the designer who designed many of the pieces Heather is wearing in the photos.
