Two weeks after longtime “Dancing With the Stars” pro Artem Chigvintsev’s arrest, his wife, former WWE star Nikki (Bella) Garcia is taking action.
According to online documents obtained by E! News, Garcia filed for divorce.
Chigvintsev was arrested on Aug. 29 just before 10 a.m. PST. He was arrested on accusations of corporal injury to spouse while in Napa, California.
The dancer was booked and later released on $25,000 bail, People reported.
Shortly after the arrested, Napa County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer told E! News that “when someone is charged with felony domestic violence, usually this means there is a visible injury or credible eye witness. Our deputies felt comfortable arresting him on felony domestic violence charges.”
Chigvintsevand Garcia have been married since 2022. The couple shares a son together.
As social media post revealed, the couple was in Napa celebrating their anniversary when the arrest took place. Garcia shared a video of their relationship over the years as the song “Can’t Help Falling in Love With You” played in the background.
“This song is our love story. I’ll never forget where I was when I asked Jesus about Artem. Having a conversation with He & God. How my feelings felt too soon. It all felt too fast. And then this song came on. And that’s when I knew that I was falling in love with him and that it was all meant to be,” she wrote in the caption.
Chigvintsev also posted in honor of their anniversary:
“Happy anniversary my love, can’t see my life without you. You are my everything,” he wrote.
Neither Garcia nor Chigvintsev have shared a statement regarding the arrest or their impending divorce.
In a note shared with E! News by reps for Garcia, “This is a private matter,” they said, “and Nikki asks for privacy for her and her family at this time.”
