Nikita Dragun, a transgender influencer with more than 27 million followers across social media, was arrested in Miami on Monday following an altercation with police at The Goodtime Hotel. Police arrived at the scene around 6:00 PM after responding to reports of ‘disorderly conduct’ by security and staffers.
Among their complaints was the fact that Dragun was walking around the hotel pool unclothed. When confronted about her behavior, she threw water at pool staff members. By the time police arrived, Dragun was in her hotel room with the music blasting. That’s when things took an unfortunate turn for the worse.
After telling Dragun she could be escorted from the property, police officers said she slammed the door in their faces. She eventually reopened the door, but it led to her throwing water at the officers – enough to arrest her on felony assault, misdemeanor battery, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges.

Nikita Dragun appeared in court (virtually) on Tuesday, where she was heard asking the judge, “Do I have to stay here in the men’s unit, still?” According to the 26-year-old, she was placed in the men’s unit of the jail she was placed in following the arrest. Being a transgender female, Dragun was deeply offended.
She was eventually released on Wednesday after posting a $5,000 bond, but Dragun wasn’t about to let her experience go unheard or unnoticed. Her personal publicist, Jack Ketsoyan, spoke to the Local 10 News about the ‘disturbing’ and ‘dangerous’ situation that left Dragun in a jail surrounded by men.
“This decision made by the Miami-Dade County Corrections Department directly violates their protocol, which mandates that transgender inmates are classified and housed based on safety needs and gender identity. Nikita has been released and is now safe,” said Ketsoyan, adding for people to respect Dragun’s privacy.
At this time, we’re unsure if Nikita Dragun will seek any further action after how she was allegedly treated during her two-day stay at Miami-Dade County’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. It was clear the judge had no time for her complaint, initially responding “Yeah, I don’t make the rules up there.”
Miami-Dade Prison System Denies Any Mistreatment Towards Nikita Dragun
Due to her massive following on social media, Nikita Dragun saw her story spread like wildfire as news outlets started to learn more. It didn’t take long for TMZ to receive a statement from a Miami-Dade prison system representative denying the claims made by Dragun and denying any mistreatment on their end.
“All inmates undergoing our intake process remain in an open seating (open booking) area, in the presence of correctional staff. Additionally, inmate Dragun was placed in a holding cell by herself due to her high profile status before being released, and she was escorted by an LGBTQ officer,” they said.
“Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department (MDCR) is committed to protecting the rights of the transgender community and of all LGBTQ people. MDCR has procedures in place for the appropriate intake, housing, and medical needs of transgender inmates, and we are committed to ensuring that all inmates in our custody, including transgender persons, are treated appropriately,” the representative continued.

This wasn’t the only incident Nikita Dragun found herself in this week. Several hours before her arrest, she was escorted out of a Miami nightclub after shoving one of the DJs performing at the time. She apparently saw the DJ acting disrespectfully toward another woman, but this claim is also being disputed.
