In December 2022, Nicki Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, purchased a $19.5 million home in Hidden Hills – the same community that houses Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, and Will and Jada Smith. While it was an exciting move for the couple, not everyone was inviting and welcoming.
On December 25, 2022, a person by the name of Beverly Bardan started a petition on Change.org titled, “SAY NO TO SEX OFFENDERS IN HIDDEN HILLS.” Beverly, who was believed to be a resident of the community, was calling for the removal of Minaj and Petty – who is a level 3 sex offender in California.
Nicki Minaj and her husband, registered sex offender Kenneth Petty, have purchased a house in our neighborhood of Hidden Hills,” Bardan wrote. “The Petty couple moving in would lead to appraisal value of our homes to go DOWN due to safety concerns. It would lead to children and women being a target.”

The petition urged members of the community to ‘put our resident’s safety first.’ It also advises residents not to wait for a letter from the government saying a predator has moved in nearby. “DO NOT allow this dangerous sex offender to live near you, SHOW that you are against sex offenders,” the petition read.
Over the past six months, the petition has gained 1,098 signatures and is just 408 signatures away from its next goal – nearly 200 of those signatures were added on June 23. It recently picked up steam when Kenneth Petty filed new legal documents that changed his address on the official Megan’s Law website.
With the petition going viral again, TMZ did some digging and found out that the Hidden Hills Community Association had no idea about the petition and confirmed there wasn’t a Beverly Barden living in the community. There was also no public record of a Beverly Barden in the area, which raised questions.
It turns out Beverly Barden isn’t a real person. Instead, it’s a fake name used by a Cardi B fan who was trying to troll Nicki Minaj – and succeeded. This was confirmed when a superfan went to Twitter and admitted to being the user behind the name – the same account shared the petition back in December.
Nicki Minaj is No Stranger to Trolls and Prank Calls
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty have had to encounter trolls at their home. Just a few weeks ago, her family was the victim of a ‘swatting’ attempt – which is when someone prank calls emergency services to elicit an exaggerated response. The incident happened on June 5.
Nicki was at home with her husband, Kenneth Petty, and 2-year-old son, Papa Bear, when someone called child protective services on the couple – alleging child abuse inside the home. When police arrived at their LA home, they found no signs of abuse and it was quickly determined to be a swatting attempt.

Not even 12 hours later, the family dodged another ‘swatting’ attempt when someone reported a house first at the couple’s address. When first responders arrived on the scene at around 3 a.m., the house wasn’t on fire and no one was in danger. Last we heard, Nicki Minaj was considering pressing charges.
