It doesn’t matter what he’s doing or who he’s talking to, Nick Cannon always seems to field questions about his ever-growing family. As of today, the 42-year-old is a father to 12 children (one of which passed away in 2021) with six different women – but there’s a good chance he welcomes more in the future.
Cannon recently sat down with Shorty Da Prince, Brittish Williams, and Andrew Caldwell of Audacy’s 104.1 in St. Louis for The Home Team Morning Show. The conversation was originally focused on Nick’s newest project – the Future Superstar Tour – which gives talented artists the platform they deserve.
“Everybody obviously knows the energy from the Wild N Out tour, so we’re gonna bring that back,” Cannon said of the tour – adding that he’s combining education with entertainment. He likens his vision to that of Berry Gordy II, who founded Motown and helped talented artists take their unique sound worldwide.

As his conversation with The Home Team Morning Show continued, the hosts eventually shifted the focus to Nick Cannon’s ever-growing family. They asked him if he has plans of adding more children in the future, but he didn’t really have an answer – he originally thought he’d stop at two, but things changed.
Of course, being a father to 12 children – especially with six different mothers – doesn’t come cheap. He previously revealed that he spends more than $3 million per year in child support payments, but he never plans on having trouble with those payments and wants to make sure his children have what they need.
As for the mother of his children, Nick Cannon was asked if he gives them a monthly allowance of some sort – which he doesn’t. “It ain’t even about a monthly allowance or amount of money because I don’t give myself that,” he said a few days ago. “What they need, they get it… That’s why they call me the provider.”
He added that there’s never been something that one of the mothers of his children asked for that they didn’t receive – furthering the notion that he’s dedicated to being a good father to his children and respects the mothers of his children for everything they do. Even with 12 children, he stays loyal.
Nick Cannon Moves Forward With Love and Respect
In addition to the financial aspects, Nick Cannon opened up about the ‘respect and admiration’ he has for the mothers of his children. “Regardless of what goes on in any scenario, I’m gonna always show love and respect. I’ll never say anything disrespectful or bad about any of the mothers of my children.”
“I have so much respect and admiration for the individual. Everybody has their challenges – but when you really understand this woman has given the greatest sacrifice and sacrificed her body to bring a child into this world, that’s the best gift any man could ask for,” he said during his interview with Audacy’s 104.1.
He also admitted that, while there used to be a surprise and fear when finding out he was going to be a father in his earlier years, he now calls that moment ‘the happiest feeling anyone could ever experience.’ The hosts joked that his ‘pull-out game is trash,’ but he sees it differently – ‘my insert game is amazing.’
